Nuts, mushrooms, quinoa, amaranth, corn, beans, rice, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cheese, milk, edamame, tofu, soy milk, eggs, bread, oatmeal (or any other cereal), etc.

FYI: nuts, mushrooms, quinoa, and amaranth are complete proteins. All of these contain the nine essential amino acids we need. Rice and beans together make a complete protein also.

I enjoy veggie burgers, soy milk, almonds, mushrooms, black beans, kidney beans, soy beans, yogurt, tofu, and foods made for vegetaians on the markets like "buffulo" wings.
I like to make a buritto with beans, veggie burger, greens and sour cream. btw, thanks for answering my question :]

Garbanzo beans, they have a lot. (i like to make hummus with them.)

Beans and rice, or tofu, or cheese and eggs. It is extremely unlikely that an American vegetarian will be malnourished. However, vegans needs a source of B12.

I drink smoothies and put protein powder in them. It's good.

Along with everything else everyone said.

Yummm.

Protein-rich vegetarian foods include almonds, black beans, brown rice, cashews, faux meats, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, lima beans, peanut butter, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, textured vegetable protein (TVP), and tofu.

Soy and Soy based extruded products and pulses.

All these are grreat answers and TONS of things can be made with all these items but...your question doesn't say if you are thinking of becoming a veggie or not but...if you've never looked there are now many many convenient vegetarian "meats" these days. There is everything from lunch meats to "hamburger" crumbles to corn dogs and lots more. For people switching over these are often more familiar foods to start with. When I became a veggie 25 years ago there were none of these things so for people turning to it now it is much much easier. P.S. If you are looking at these foods check for things like sodium levels, they are often high.

sprouts and cereals with loadsa milk .
