Maybe some people they know call themselves vegetarians and eat fish/chicken. With honey, I think most people it just doesn't even occur to them that it's an animal product (it didn't to me). I find it irritating when telling people that I don't eat meat being asked by every person if I eat those meats or not, and am also annoyed by people claiming to be vegetarian/vegan when they are not, and causing this confusion.
To some of the rude previous posters, This question doesn't tell people what they can and can't eat at all! It just tells people who are obviously not vegetarian/vegan to stop saying they are and confusing meat-eaters:p
nothing so irritating as the self-rightous. whatever.
Interesting. I guess I'm a semi vegetarian. :)
And how is that a question?
More to the point, learn some basic grammar.
Also, who are you to preach to people about what they can and cannot eat? Each to their own. It completely depends on the reasoning behind being vegetarian/ vegan
Probably because they are not veg's. they just don't really think about fish being meat, because it's sorta not,and honey,it's a product made by bee's doesn't harm the bee's, so they figure you'd be okay with that.
They don't know what vegetarians or vegan people are.
I know a guy that eats fish and thinks he's a vegetarian. I think it's hypocritical. You're still killing a living creature and eating it's body. Sounds like meat to me.
Wow! Chill out! Who cares what anyone else eats or calls themselves. If I stick a feather in my @ss and call myself Fanny, will it really have much impact on your life? I think you need a better hobby...and a life. The whole world does not have to fit into a neatly labeled definition of what someone else says is "right". After all, I don't think the veggie police are going to turn up on anyones doorstep if they eat something not properly defined. Grow up!
thank u lol I'm a vegetarian
and nothing piss me of more then
"I'm a vegetarian that only eats fish/poltree"
no! then Ur not a bloody vegetarian
once i asked a girl who said this why she thinks its ok to eat fish but no other meat. she informed me beacuse fish didnt have legs i wanted to hit her she was just so stupid.
I can understand your annoyance, but if you think about it, most people don't even know what a vegan is, let alone the sub-vegetarianism's. Until I did some research, I didn't know either.
In Costa Rica, they don't consider fish and chicken meat...in Korea they don't consider fish meat...in living in a multi-cultural nation, I think that we can be a little more lenient on these things. Right?
there's no such thing a "semi" vegetarian and "pescetarians" are not vegetarians, they're omnivores because they still eat seafood and fish are animals, you know.
I know what you mean with vegans and honey, well to a certain degree. Whenever I meet another vegan, the first thing i ask them, or they ask me "you eat honey?" and you know what I never meet a "vegan" who did? I think its almost just some internet hype about vegans who eat honey, as I never met one that did.
also, My sister used to be a vegetarian whom ate fish. She stopped calling herself a vegetarian after she started eating fish more than once a week and also added chicken to her repertoire. Thankfully, she abandoned that term
who cares
Why does it matter what people label themselves?
It is up to them to make that decision
I can understand why you might be irritated by people saying stuff like that but does it really matter?I can understand the fish and poultry etc. but since when is honey in any way fish, poultry, red meat etc.?Technically speaking the honey is derived from plants isn't it?Eggs I understand.I mean they could be a living, breathing animal. And milking doesn't even cause a significant change in body conditions of the cows.
