Cruelty-free deodorant?!

Question: I seek an effective, fragrance-free deodorant that has not been tested on animals. I've tried Tom's of Maine, but I found that the herby fragrances just made me stink even more. =S What do you guys reccomend? (I prefer powdery sticks to gel ones.)
Thanks in advance!

Two brands, one called "Kiss My Face" and one called "Jason" make products that are not tested on animals, and I know they each make a fragrance-free deodorant. I'm not sure if the sticks are the powdery kind, though.

If you're adventurous, you might try that Crystal Stick kind--it's made of mineral salt and you basically wet the top of it and apply it. No fragrance and no "deodorant feel"...a lot of people swear by it!

hmm... I have Tom's of Main fragrance-free. Can't really guarantee that it works though.

Truthfully, I stopped wearing deoderant 2 years ago. a little after I adopted a vegan diet. I have this little theory, People who wear deoderant are the only people who actually NEED deoderant. To say, if you are continuely masking your body scents they tend to build up and come out stronger. If you don't wear deoderant, you may smell for three or four days, but after that you won't ever have the need for deoderant again. Its kinda like foot rot (bad smelling feet), your feet tend to smell bad when you keep them trapped up in shoes all the time. This is because they aren't able to breathe. All the stinky smelly sweat gets stuck in them and creates a funky order. Shoes like deoderant, if you don't want the stink let them breathe naturally. Before I am labelled, stinky hippie, try it out for yourself. I never wear deoderant at all, and i haven't heard a comment or criticism in regards to being smelly in almost two years. Deoderants are completely non-necessary and are a waste of money.

Also, there are certain chemicals called phermones, body odor even undetectable body odors carry sex phermones, which are used to attract the opposite sex. When you wear deoderant you smell like a millions of other people who wear the same scent, when you don't you spread personal phermones that no one else contains. I guess you can assume its Conformity vs. Individualilty. Do you really wanna be like everyone else?

Warning: I've also noticed though it depends on healthy you are in taking care of your body, if you eat lots of processed foods, junk foods, genetically modified foods or chemical laced, you will smell like processed, junky, genectically modified, chemical scents. That is why I specified after I did this after adopting veganism.

Here's what you can do...

Get some powdered aluminum, some Crisco shortening, and some un-scented bar soap. Take the bar soap and shave a lot of slivers off it; a cheese grater works good for this. Next, mix the powdered aluminum, Crisco and the shaved bar soap together -- and schmeer it on your arm-pits. You ain't gonna perspire much in your 'pits, because the powdered aluminum will be clogging the pores there -- in fact, the powdered aluminum is the ACTIVE ingredient in anti-perspirants, all the other stuff does is keep the powdered aluminum where you put it.

By the way...this is basically the same formula used in all the "anti-perspirants" on the market today (with some slight modification, of course). But since you want something that is "fragrance-free", you won't get a deodorant.

Deodorants mask (cover up) the smell of perspiration -- and that's what the fragrance is for.

Now, if you REALLY want to help end cruelty to animals -- quit wearing leather belts and all other items made of dead animals. Don't ever use leather gloves when you do your gardening. Don't even think of buying a high-end car: They ALL have leather in them.

Better yet, stop eating veggies -- plants feel pain, too.

J/A/S/O/N is the best deodorant.

I lasts all day long. I think that it murders the fu*ck out of any living micro-organism that may be hanging out up there.

I wasn't satisfied with any natural cruelty free ones.Ive tried a lot including the crystal one.I've found the best;baking soda.It neutrilizes acid and works great, its cheap and eco friendly! the only problem is you might only find arm and hammer brand and they have tested on animals.

I use a natural deoderant its basicaly purified water and mineral salts.

Not certified cruelty free but purified water and mineral salts? That stuff does not hurt anyone or anything.

lush.co.uk or lush.com depending where you're from. I know the uk website does powder deodorants. They have 5 different ones - one even smells like coconut! And lush don't test their products on animals! Hope this helps.
