Pop drinks are sometimes OK, most are sweetened with corn syrup now rather than with sugar (50% of white sugar is filtered through bone char, making it not vegan)... you might want to order Diet to be sure. Or just stick with water.

Popcorn is usually popped with oil and they add butter later, so just say you don't want butter. It depends on the theater though, they might use butter-flavored popcorn to begin with.

Most candies available behind the counter at the theater aren't vegan either, typically because they contain dairy products (milk chocolate, whey) and gelatin.

Get nuts, trail mix, or bring something in if you're not sure.

Pop? i just want to know if you're dead serious about that one. because yes. there are nooo animals in pop. Popcorn, i have no idea but I'm guessing not. its popped with oil.

I tend to carry my own candy into the theatre (I know, I'm bad, but if they don't have vegan options...). The fact that I carry a large purse helps.

You should avoid most conventional sodas because they are really, really bad for you. Diet soda is even worse than high fructose corn syrup soda. Some theatres will have bottled tea drinks, but many of them have HFCS.

I doubt that movie popcorn is vegan.
I've seen the popping oil at Sam's Club and if I recall correctly there's dairy in there of some kind.

As far as other items, here's a list of "accidentally vegan" items.
I'm sure you can find something at the concession stand (albeit way overpriced...)

Congrats on going vegan! Normally it is good to ask about their popcorn and vegan options. Popcorn without butter should be okay. You could bring nutritional yeast with you to top on popcorn as well as bring some of your own snacks. Pop (soda) is normally okay to drink, some contain animal products, in the *natural flavorings*, most of the time best to avoid.

Well I know for a fact that Swedish Fish are vegan and they are in almost all movie theaters!

Congrats to you for starting an animal cruelty-free lifestyle lol. I don't want to burn you down, but don't expect much of a selection from the movie theater in terms of treats. You most likely will have to eat nuts, drink water or walk with something from a organic or health food store. Hey people do it all the time, that stuff is expensive, and they should have a better variety lol.

They only things with the nuts you have to look out for, is to make sure that they are roasted nuts without oil, as if they use oil from animal fat, then its not vegan, the same goes for popcorn.

Most sodas aren't vegan as they contain the white sugar which has been filetered with bone marrow not vegan -- just as Maggie said lol --.

Your best bet is to eat before or after the movie, so that you can stick with your new lifestyle without breaking rules.

I always bring something when I go. Last time I brought an orange, my friend was like "that smells soooo good!"
Although I don't recommend anything loud and crunchy like apples.
Pretty much anything they sell at the movies is really bad for you, anyway.

well if you want candy you can get sour patch kids...

A lot of movie theater popcorn is actually vegan. It's disgustingly unhealthy, but there's no real butter or dairy in it (even in the "butter topping.") You just have to ask to see the ingredients.

I think you would be fine with butterless popcorn and a soda although I would nix the soda and get a water. You could always sneak in some vegan candy of your own.
