Healthy vegetarian food that tastes great?!
Answers: i'm trying to become a vegetarian because of the downer cow issue and the fact that i when i think about what i'm eating i want to throw up. i'm not a fruit & vegetable lover though... are there any foods that taste REALLY REALLY good (almost addictively good) but are still healthy and vegetarian?
Yay, im so happy you want to be a vegetarian! Theres so many great aspect to it, trust me :).
I also had the same problem as you: wasnt too fond of the vegetables and wanted to become a vegetarian. Well theres alot of things you can eat!
-Vegetable Lasagnas
-Chili SIN(withouth) Carne with rice or bread - basically just beans and corn in a flavorfull sauce
-Vegetarian pizzas
-Hummus (definately addictive if you like it)
-Almonds and raisins (sounds boring but its totally addictive)
-Chips, Nachos and cheese or salsa dip, Popcorn (all vegetarian)
-Mac and cheese
-Vegetarian currys (SERIOUSLY addictive)
-Quorn products (fake burgers, sausages, chicken fillets) are really yummy and fullfilling!
What ive found is that I love carbs. So I eat alot of pasta, bread, rice, beans, cereals etc. Its good to eat carbs but since im (and maybe you) a carb craving veggie, I need to eat a good amount of other things as well. You cant escape the vegetables, theyre an important part of vegetarianism (hence the name).
If you don't like fruits and veggies, you're probably not going to make it as a vegetarian for long.
Try some boca burgers, or gardenburgers, which are delicious. In the mean time, give your fruits and veggies another chance!
everybody seems to think that vegetarians only eat vegetables. we don't trust me. If you go to say tesco and go to the frozen foods section, look in the vegetarian section and you will see there is plenty of variety of Delicious foods, my faves are creamy mushroom pies, rice dishes, e.g egg fried rice, (free range of course!) veggie sausages, lamb style grills or chicken style . all of these are Delicious. experiment!

stop believing the lie.... vegetarianism is NOT good for you.
eat a damn steak. Don't let someone else's political agenda - driven rhetoric influence what you eat.
beef is your friend. eat some NOW.
There are so many options out there they would be impossible to list especially without knowing your tastes but...for someone thinking about becoming a veggie I would suggest some of the prepared foods that have much more familiar tastes that you are used to. They have everything from burgers(which all my meat eating friends like) to corn dogs, lunch meats, frozen complete meals, pizza and on and on. Most of these items you can get from the grocery(I'm not sure how easy it is in the boonies) or if you can't find them there a health food store will have lots. I think that if you start with these things,as your tastes adjust you just might start to like veggies more. As someone else said, you don't have to just eat veggies, there are tons of options out there as long as you get your protein. If you cook there are lots of books out there for beginners, just don't choose one of the serious vegan veggie cookbooks.I've been a veggie for 25 years and even "I" think some of it is blech. Start with a "pepperoni" and veggie pizza and you just might be surprised that veggies taste good after all. P.S. I don't know how old you are but one thing you have to watch in the prepared foods is the sodium content,it can be quite high. Good luck and ask more questions,it can be a good healthy lifestyle and it's terrific for the planet.
Vegetables and fruits.
Meatless products like boca burgers or boca nuggets. They also make meatless deli things like turkey and stuff.
Depending on what you like. My favorite things are the boca burger with cheese, mustard, lettuce, ketchup and tomato.
Also tofu is really good, If you put it on the stove and then toss it in with some veggies its really good. You can do alot of stuff with tofu too. You can also make 'tofu jerky'
