I want to be a vegetarian but ...?!
I feel so bad when I eat meat and stuff now. Like after I watched a peta video (30 reasons in 3 minutes) and I feel so terrible. Meat just makes me sick now. I mean my family doesn't eat pork already. And we take vitimans. My mom makes me take B12, Vitiman C , zinc and calcium every day.
Also I loooove tofu and the meat subs. Ik, crazy! Also, I'll consider the chocolate silk milk.
I know my mom just wants me to stay healthy and be safe with my diet and look out for me, but I shouldn't be forced to eat something I don't want to right.
How can I tell her? FYI, my mom overreacts to EVERYTHING so please help!!!!
thanks ???
Answers: My mom and sister are soo against it. My sister says "God put animals on the Earth for us to eat" and my mom says its unhealthy.

Get some books from the library on vegan/vegetarian eating. Review them with your mom. You can both find out what you should be eating to satisfy your nutritional needs. Make an appointment with a dietician and/or your pediatrician. Maybe the doctor can refer you to a dietician. The dietician can answer your mother's questions and give you both ideas on eating vegan/vegetarian and staying healthy.
Your mother should respect your choices in food as long as they are healthy alternatives to the food she wants you to eat.
Offer to prepare many of your own meals or even teach your mother how to cook the things you like. She may find she enjoys them also. With the price of meat nowadays it's good to look at other alternatives anyway. Good luck.
The best way to convince your family that you can safely handle your nutritional needs is to read a lot and be very informed:

Remember this is you life do what you want!
If God put animals on the planet to eat, why don't you eat your pet cat? OK, you probably don't want to ask them that. ;)
It sounds like they just need to be educated about the health benefits (yes, benefits) of a vegetarian diet. You'll get all the nutrients you need (including protein) on a balanced vegetarian diet.
Here's a great place to get started on the most basic info:

Good luck. Hang in there. You're doing the right thing!
i suggest you decide for yourself i dont eat much meat has when i see a lamb or a cow on a field they are like big pets to me , you have to think hard how they thats some are treated okay you sister says god put these animals on the earth, but in gods day you didnt see many animals killed just to satisfy a person to eat it. after all you wouldnt eat your family pet dog or cat so you dont have to eat a pig etc
What you choose to eat is a very personal decision. Go to the grocery store with your mom, pick out your own food, and tell her you will cook it yourself (and clean up after.)
Emphasize that this is YOUR choice, and you aren't asking her or your sister to give up anything- don't make them feel guilty by reciting facts to them while they eat steaks- save that for when you're in college! : )
your mum says she wants you to be healthy, but being veggie is waaaay healthier. i became veggie when i was 11, and i have been so much healthier since, and am hardly ever ill, too.
