Are there any really easy ways to make the switch to being a vegetarian?!
i hope to eventually be a vegan.
Answers: i really want to make the switch to being a vegetarian. do you have any tips for making the switch easily? or just making the switch at all.

Some people choose to eliminate meat and animal products from their diet and lifestyle over a span of time. Maybe a month or even a year either by eliminating one product at a time or by starting out on a one day a week basis without meat and building from there.
You may choose either of these ways, or go cold turkey (no pun intended). If you choose to do it all at once, you may not feel well at first. Some people may get tired faster or get headaches. That's the natural way a body reacts when it is eliminating something. That's why I recommend doing it one step at a time. It makes the transition much easier and more enjoyable, plus you're less likely to "give up".

humans were ment to be herbavores, our stomaches were not desinged to eat fleshy meats.
I would say start small, dont eat the land meats, but replace them with fishes for awhile till you can master your dietary needs.
I've been wondering the same thing....?
Good Question!!!
hopefully someone that is a vegetarian will answer soon!!
tis easy really. for instance, roast dinner, take out the meat and have anything else. try quorn if you like the taste of meat. and most restraunts , fast foods, etc. have a veggie option. if you keep a focused mind on why its alot easier, just dont give in (:
and im a vegan myself, its alot harder than switching to a vegatirian diet >_<
hope it helped in some way (: x
next month it will be two years since i have been a vegetarian :) and let me tell you the 1st two months was hard.........the 1st week was really easy....and i did give into temptation more than once as my whole family are meat eaters but then i thought to myself is it really worth it......eating the meat......and then i thought no it isnt the satisfaction isnt all that great and then i became a strict vegetarian it was still hard at times but i just focused on my goal and after about 6 months meat becomes revolting i dot even want to look at it....it just takes self control and also i jus concentrated on the other foods i like like kidney beans and mushrooms ( i have weird taste buds lol) but anyway if you really want to do it you can dont pressure yourself take it step by step....just start cutting down on meat if you cant do it at once....if you really want to do something u can and dont let anyone tell u otherwise goodluck with it all :)
it has made my life much better
ohh okay i just read ur extended question well start eating stuff with alot of protein....i have just stopped eating meat i do still have dairy products... i wanted to give up dairy products but parents didnt let me....with everyone else in my family eating meati do feel akward but we have to make our own choices in life and also if u do not like eating meat dont eat it!! just keep a balanced diet with everything else
it is actually proven a vegetarian life style is much healtier than a meat eating life style
Just do it. Go cold tofu:: Don't use any drag it out BS things. Then it will be like you're rewarding yourself with it and depriving yourself. Get educated though. Go and buy a few educational books and cookbooks.
Also, don't get discouraged by people. They will tell you it's unhealthy and such, or that it's hard. It's not. Being vegetarian, and now vegan are the two easiest things I've done.
Good luck! :)
I made that exact desition a month ago,Go thru all ur cupboads and ur fringe, thro outEVERYTHINGnot vagan,,then go shopping and make a freash new start with food, buy different coulored fruit and vegies, pasta or noodle products, legumes or lentils(thay usually come in tins and r great in soups),Ialso urge u to try Herbal teas(if u havent already) theres heaps of different flafers and types! I googled VEGAN and theres heaps of web sites telling u what to eat,Try it its so easy!Did u know u can live longer if ur a vegan, its the healest diet by far!hope this makes it easer!!
All together now, say - "No meat please!" See how simple that was. very!
parents:- protest! roll around on the floor, yelling "no mama, I don't want dead animals. Please save me mama"! swing back and fore in a frantic crazy way! lol
Seriously, tell them that they can stop you now, but as an adult they willot be able to. So it is better for your relationship for them to help you in your choice. Not make things harder!
1) stop eating things that are meat or have meat.
2) work out how you are going to be healthy happy veggie, -
3) buy good food, fruits, veggies, grains, nuts.
4) try to preplan your food, as this is new you do not want to get hungry and start eating that old animal crap.
5) pre make your meals.
6) always have fruits and nuts so you are not thinking about food all the time - missing meat
7) go online for some veggie recipes.
8) make all your old fav. foods meatless.
9) do not take any crap from any one that tells you to eat meat. - politely say no. and if they ask again, call me, I'll bi!ch slap them!
10) try new foods and places to eat. -
its gone be a great adventure, just make sure you stick to it. Don't wimp out after a few months, life is little bit different! Remember no one a likes a quitter!
Be proud! cause your doing a sh!t load of good!
I am a vegetarian and i just keep on thinking about all the animals that were in pain and suffering to feed us!! And it feels good to know u have nothing in u that was at one time alive breathing, eating etc!!!!
honestly, the best way is do research, look up recipes, look up nutrition, look up what has protein, figure out what you would eat from day to day. Look up why people are veggies.
The best thing I did was research, I still do....all the time. People have been trying to tell me that my diet is wrong for years and years, the best come backs are educated ones. I eats beans, nuts, quinoa, whole wheat and fortified soy for protein, and Iron...plus a wide range of veggies and fruit.
I went vegan last year. I was veggie for 3-4 years before that. Start by keeping eggs and dairy in your diet. Make sure that you aren't just eating pasta and cheese :) that isn't good for you.
Make sure that you carry around some granola bars, fruit, nuts or something with you in case you get caught somewhere starving.....if you never get too hungry, the less there of a chance for you crave meat.
Remember that if you grow up with meat, then in a way, it is comfort food....if you crave it and give in to the craving, don't feel guilty. Lots of people do and they shouldn't.
For a while you will need to read ingredients. Look out for gelatin, it's in all kinds of things, look for rennet in cheese (rennet is curdled milk from veal calf's stomach....microbial enzyme is veggie friendly and it replaces rennet in cheese).
Learn how to cook tofu, make stuff that you enjoy, but don't rely on faux meats too heavily. Balanced diet is what you are aiming for.
When you are comfortable with veggie, start baking vegan....find egg replacers and bake a vegan cake. :)
Remember that a veggie life is personal, but the more you know the better equipped you will be for success. AND you will find that veggies love to trade recipes, so join some forums for support and good advice, and have fun cooking..
good luck and great decision, veggies rule!
The way I did it was to think, "Today I won't eat meat". Rather than looking at it as you will never eat meat again, just take each day as it comes.
Also, try a new food every week. You'll soon start to enjoy these new foods, and it will take your mind off the lack of meat if you're struggling. Also, try not to eat out in restaurants etc for at least a month as the temptation will be too great!
I am now a full blown vegan - I found it very easy! : )
How about NOT doing it? You're born an omnivore. You are part of the food chain. No other animal has problems belonging to that food chain. Why should you except for some silly, fleeting human emotions?
*****EDIT***********
Okay-- if you don't like meat, that's fine. Get plenty of protein through beans and the like.
Kyle is an idiot. We are omnivores! NOT herbivores.

I only post what is correct. I challenge anyone who thumbs me down to challenge what I say-- they never do.
