Answers: Anyone know any good sauces or flavourings for a vegetable stir fry - apart from soy sauce, (I can't stand the stuff).

Fresh ginger root, grated, mixed with lime juice and coriander.
How about a lovely pesto sauce oh wait that's for pasta you wouldn't be having to have pasta with that aswell would you?
i use a curry sauce which is made by heinz it is the same as tomato but curry flavour add coconut milk blend together and then add it to your stir fry
A pinch of Garam Masala gives a slight Indian curry taste.
Throw in some chunks of cheese.
Depends on what vegetables, I suppose.

chinese 5 spice powder is yummy, is not hot at all. you can just sprinkle some in if you like. i make a sauce with honey and lemon juice and 5spice (i also add soy sauce but obviously you wont want that)
ginger can be grated and added to the sauce, or you can just stir fry the chopped or grated ginger with the veg.
Hossein is great. I like using ginger and orange juice (You can thicken it with corn starch).
Using different oils can be great too, like walnut oil (It's very strong). Making a peanut sauce (there are tons of recipes online).

I like simple and quick, I make stir Fry's almost every night, so quick and easy and preferably fresh ingredients is the way I go.
Teriaki with a pinch of chili powder and Chinese five spice.
as a stir fry is basically a Chinese type dish .theres so many options open to you as a lot of Chinese food is vegetarian mostly Buddhist in origin so there should be no problem for flavours .
sesame oil plum sauce hoisin sauce black bean yellow bean as for soy sauce have you tried the different ones that you can buy theres light dark sweet and of course as well as Chinese soy sauce you all so have Japanese Thai Malay just to mention a few .all so japan has a lot to offer as well as the rest of asia to choose from so many options to choose from
