Does toothpaste have animal derivatives?!

Question: i've heard that it does and that's why people switch to seaweed toothpaste

Answers: i've heard that it does and that's why people switch to seaweed toothpaste

The mainstreams ones do, yes.

The only supermarket version I've seen that was veggie was "Waitrose" own brand

You can buy veggie and vegan toothpaste from independent shops though.

Some do. The leftovers from the meat industries are rendered and used in LOTS of beauty and personal care products. Tom's of Maine labels their toothpastes and at least some of them are made with no rendered animal bits.

some does read back of packaging

Some of them might. It's helpful to look at the ingredients, because everyday household products can contain a lot of hidden animal ingredients, like glycerine, monoglycerides, and lots of others. To get familiar with some of these ingredients, here's a good resource:

Tom's of Maine products are vegetarian some of them contain beeswax so are not vegan.

yes

Are you in the UK? The BUAV logo (look it up) certifies that the product has no animal ingredients (including animal products) and was not animal tested.
