So what, I'm vegetarian?!?!
And I don't eat fish. I've been vegetarian for 10 years now.
Answers: Why do so many people have a problem with those who don't eat rotting animals??! Only 5% of English population is veggie.
And I don't eat fish. I've been vegetarian for 10 years now.
we don't. its when yall shove beliefs down our throats that we get mad and when people start talking about how immoral we are. but your not one of those people as far as i know, so whatever. i don't have a problem with vegetarians.
People sometimes don't like a certain behavior because they themselves don't do it. I have nothing against a vegetarian. I know a couple myself. I just say, at least your eating a lot healthier than I am.
you can eat whatever you want, i don't have a problem with that. just don't act that you're better than other people just because you don't eat meat. i'm not saying that you do, but some are known to do that. other than that have fun!
I don't have a problem with vegetarians, it's a matter of choice.
The only problem I do have is if I'm have a dinner party and 1 or 2 people are vegetarian then I feel I have to make extra dishes to accomdate them and that is sometimes a pain.
Other than that minor annoyance eat what you like.
I am veggie too, for 5 years. I am facing the same problem, but I am not bothering myself with other peoples eating behaviorals any more, I know that I am doing the right thing, but I cannot fight with others to make them live healtier if they dont want to.
good for you. nothings bad about being a veggie. besides i think your doing the right thing, its cruel to kill animals even if they are old...
=] keep up the good work =]
I don't, I actually condone it, I wish I could, but I'm not that strong. I just well,.... I like meat....
Because for some reason some people think that we think we are better than them. I don't know where they get that from, maybe because they think we are???? Lol, I don't think I am at all:)
I think it's great that you are a veggie! I am too. I can't stand the thought of 'rotting animal' eating as you put it!!
It's definitely a healthier life style. I always feel good about my self that I arent making animals suffer in small over crowded places being fed rubbish.
I think people have a problem with having to make a veggie dish for the odd person rather than making same for all is one of the things that people have a problem with. I don't see why- as we are free to choose what we want!!
I hate people who think- animals are there for us to eat. I know they are animals but they should be kept with some respect- i think people have a problem with us thinking that.
I know I sometimes put people off eating when i talk about what it is they are eating (not purposely- by accident!) they are happy to know it's not a animal they are eating!! Especially if you talk about The sheep pig- when they are eating pork.
A lot of meat eaters seem to be people who cant bring themselves to stop eating meat I have found- so us being able to do that winds them up!
My response is probably not at all what you were looking for but I've said it now!!!
Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian.
Just be considerate to us who eat meat, the animals we eat of course are not rotting as you suggest.
Every food is perishable, given the time, enzymes which is natural to all food whether animal or plant products, will work its wonders.
It just happen that you don't eat meat and we don't eat grass. There should be no fuss about it. Don't force what you do with your life to other people.
We are, after all, just trying to live and enjoy life.
I don't, but I do have a problem when they think they're better and they practically dissmiss the thought of people eating animals. I like eating meat--mostly only chicken of course--have to put up with eating the rest. And I don't plan to quit and I'm not a veggie just becuase it's hard to make a meal. I'm not a veggie just because I like chicken.
You may be meeting the wrong people..
Or they may have a problem with you as a person in general, not your diet choice in particular
You know, even when I was eating meat, I never had a problem with those that didn't. When the topic came up - just adjusted to their diet. Really saw it no different than a person that has - say an allergy that I would also make an adjustment for.
I personally don't even bring up the fact that I don't eat meat - unless it is because I am going out to eat and the topic does come up. I have had no problems at all.
Are you sure that it is the fact that you don't eat meat that is the problem?
I just think its an un-natural fashion, which is damaging to someones health, thats why i dont agree with it.
You say that only 5% of English population is veggie. You're pretty lucky, that means that out of 100 people, 5 are veggie, so chances are that you have some vegetarian friend/ co- worker/acquaintance. Where I live (Argentina), I guess only 0.01% of the population may be vegetarian, considering that I am the only one I know and most people don't even acknowledge that a person can be vegetarian, they react as if you were from another planet, and you have a hard time explaining them that fish/chicken/ham/tuna are also animals and therefore not suitable for veggies.
The Meat Industry's advertisements account for such perceptions.
Because they don't want to feel bad about their own lifestyle choices. It's a pretty common and neurotic defense mechanism.
Also, if you've been vege for 10 years, perhaps it's time to go vegan?
I have no issues at all with people being veggie, it's not my business what other people eat, I just think about what I eat, what my family eats etc, that's it, if you want to be veggie than fine for you! I love meat, decent, organic meat where the animal has had a decent life and has been killed humanely, that to me is responsible meat eating. I will never be veggie, but if that suits your life then good for you!
