Why did maxine carr get away with the fact that she knew ian huntly murderd those two lovley girls?!

Question: what? please this is ridiculous

Answers: what? please this is ridiculous

Because she was Vegan??

Ok a sensible answer.

She didn't get away with it as such, she served time in prison and the rest of her life she will be known as the 'child killers liar'. However I do agree that she received a light sentence, whilst the court documents are sealed we will never truly know why. It may be that she turned it around in the end and gave enough true evidence that it was taken into account.

Equally as likely is that due to prison overcrowding and the fact that she herself is not considered a danger to society, she was given a lighter sentence than would usually be warrented.

This may seen to be ridiculous, but in reality the woman is never going to sleep or rest easy, there will always be danger at her door and she will never again have true friends or relationships because society will have shunned her. Lonliness is the greatest punishment other than death that one can face. Silence and one's own thoughts can scream ever so loudly at times....

wow i'm surprised the first person knew the answer to this. where did u even find this? its really strange lol.

where have you been the last few years, this is old news

Well, she reckoned that she didn't know he'd killed the girls, she just provided him with an alibi that he was with her when the crimes were taking place. When she found out what the crimes were, and they had irrifutable DNA evidence against him, she retracted her statement and told the truth, that she didn't know where he was or what he was doing. She claimed to be 'horrified' when she found out. There was no evidence to say she was with him when he committed the murders, she said she lied because she loved him, but changed her statement when she found out what he'd done

Well it's nothing to do with veg*nism, but here goes.

Maxine Carr was convicted because she gave Ian Huntley a false alibi; she did so because he had told her he had been in trouble with the police before. There was no evidence that she knew he had killed the two girls. She served time for the crime she was convicted of.

The habit the press and public in Britain (I don't know about anywhere else) have of hounding people who have served time for their crimes is sickening. Two years ago a rumour went round the village where I live that Maxine Carr had been housed in the village. For a few days it was rumoured she was living at my house. I have no idea why, but that is how rumours work, and I was pretty worried for a while.

This kind of vigilantism is whipped up and encouraged by the gutter press. The most sickening thing about it is how selective that press is over these stories - if the victims are pretty, white, middle-class kids preferably with two parents apiece, they go into overdrive, whipping up the sort of shameful spectacle we saw as a result of their reporting of the awful murders of those little Soham girls. Equally tragic murders of children who don't tick those boxes barely get reported.

Let it go.

Edit** you really are an obsessive idiot, David V. Sue me?

probably because she is a veggie and they are entitled to be treated differently just because they have decided they should live by different rules is a possible answer but for sure i dont know
