The biggest con is you don't get to experience a lot of good foods. Meats are the best entrees, veggies are sides.
Pros--less anti-biotics and pesticides, cheaper food, animal friendly, less energy investment in veg than cattle
Cons--It's a lot of work, you may need vitB12 shots, you may be low in other vits and mins like D, calcium in plants is not nearly as bioavailable to humans, it can be a challenge when going out to eat
Know your complimentary proteins. Better yet, talk to a dietitian who is certified to counsel you vs. anyone on the internet. See www.eatright.org for more information.
Pros- ethical, healthy (e.g. lowers cholesterol), environmentally friendly, cost-effective, has been linked to higher IQ (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/618075...
Cons- having to defend yourself all the time, difficulties sometimes when traveling abroad finding vegetarian food, some people might miss the taste of meat.
In my opinion, the pros far outweigh the cons, I do not find meat necessary in my diet.
Cons: some people will call you a treehuging lliberal hippie, it will be harder for you to find vegetarian food in fast food places, you might be tempted to eat meat if you see everyone else eating it, You wont have turkey in thanksgiving etc, the list goes on and on.
Pros:you will reduce your chances of cancer, you will not contribute to the horrible animal cruelty of factory farming, You will be admired by some people (even thought some might not want to admit it).
Pros-better for the environment, animals and your health and you'll be exposed to more new foods.
Cons-Might be harder for you to dine out, moreso if you're vegan.
cons. Vegetarians die younger of kidney disease and diabetes. Incomplete proteins may cause nutritional deficits. Against our nature....we are carnivores.
Pro. You only get pesticides that are carcinigens and not the carcinogens from eating growth hormones in animals. Good for your teeth because you chew more. You will have more money to buy meat for your dogs and cats.
Pros- avoiding cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis and type 2 diabetes. Less of a negative impact on the environment.
Cons- I'll let you know if I find any.
Pros: Ethical, cruelty-free (vegan), environmentally friendly, less expensive, healthier.
Cons: Eating out (especially as a vegan) because many places don't offer decent vegetarian fare.
& humans aren't carnivores, we're omnivores. A carnivorous diet (eating only meat), for humans, is incredibly unhealthy.
Here are some lists of veg*n options at chain restaurants:

Pros- animals dont have to die just so you can eat it, you decrease your risk for heart disease, you decrease your risk for any other bad diseases as well because (mad cow,and others) Dont people get it? Mad cow came about because theyve been tortured and treated very inhumanly! You are no longer apart of their mis treatment yay!!

has lots of reasons there!!
Being a vegetarian the pros and cons:
Pros - Your health greatly increases, lessens the chance of getting and may even cure certain diseases, clearer skin, a longer lifespan, a more happier person & more at peace. Another pro is that you are not participating in completely 100% unnecessary cruelty to animals (which suffer beyond belief), also doing less in damaging our environment and the cut of water & grain supply which would help put a stop to world hunger.
Cons: Not every restaurant and fast food restaurants cater to vegetarians. Having to put up with ignorance. For some not knowing the many foods they can eat and should be eating to get all the proper nutrients.
The biggest con of all is weather you are a vegetarian for AR or heath reasons, being a vegan is always better. For animal rights, many are not aware, but once are cannot deny the fact of cruelty of laying hens (even free range) and dairy animals and their children experience. Besides the abuse, hormones, rape, and horror that goes on, for laying hens there is a chance the egg she has come out of her is a developing child. And the male calf from the dairy mammals are made into veal, and the females are put straight into the dairy industry. And for health reasons dairy can causes a major load of health problems and many serious diseases. The majority of humans are lactose intolerant. Animal milk links to heart disease, breast cancer, prostate cancer, allergies, constipation, anemia, diabetes, and osteoporosis, not to mention makes diabetes & autism worse because of the casein milk contains. Cow’s milk. It’s hard for humans to digest, it causes acidity in the body which can actually weaken bones over time, and it’s certainly not as good a source of calcium as vegetables are. Also, the stuff that ends up on dairy shelves are contaminated with cow’s blood, pus, feces, pesticides, and hormones. It is saturated with fat and cholesterol. And over consumption of eggs leads to breast & ovarian cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.
Cons : Restraining from meat craving, meat delusion, diet ethics.
Pros : Good for you, best for the earth.
the biggest con is that..
i think vegeratian won't have a variety of animo acids from protein.
thats about it i think.
