Question: Which ingredients would it state on the label if a bar of soap contained animal by products? Thanks for answering.

Answers: Which ingredients would it state on the label if a bar of soap contained animal by products? Thanks for answering.

if it says glycerin, lanolin, tallow, etc. it's not vegan.

although glycerin can be derived from vegetable fats they usually would state that it's vegetable glycerin or that it's a vegan product, otherwise it's animal fat.

I know Gelatin is one.. that's all i know though.. sorry...

Most major cheap brand names have animals stuff in it. look for a bvrand that is completely vegan. - kiss my face jason, etc.. go to your local health food store and you will find some.

good luck

Does it cost 3 times more than it should?

You're probably close.

Lard, suet, tallow, whey, casein, milk, honey, goat's milk, lanolin, silk/hydrolyzed silk, pearl/pearl powder, gelatin, collagen...

I know of a brand of hotel soaps which contain sodium tallowate - animal fat. Glycerin is tricky because it can come from vegetable sources as well as animal ones, best avoided if you're not sure.
