Why are there so many thumbs down in the V &V section?!

Question: Why is every one so serious here? It would be nice to just chat with other vegans and vegetarians. Sometimes you offer legitimate advice and you get thumbed down... why? There's just so much negativity here some times. Why cant people just stop hating and just cheer up???

As many others have said, too many moronic omni trolls come in here to stir ****. They thumb down and report legit answers and thumb up their own (multiple IDs) and other trolls'.

*Shrug* I dunno... maybe eating meat makes one insecure?

i find the thumbs down used a lot in the food catergory. you spend ages researching an answer , go back and find its got a thumbs down

It's kind of hard to chat with vegans and vegetarians some days. The place (today) has been largely populated by trolls.

The negativity, by and large, is not coming from the veg people....

Because some of the answers here are stupid, like mine.:D

Must be meat eaters coming on here and don't give a rat's azz.

I think lots of insecure omnivores lurk here.

The same trolls who come in and ask ridiculous or rude questions also give thumbs down to any legitimate answers. You don't know *who* gave you thumbs down, so you can't really blame it on cheerless veg*ns.

The meat eater trolls hang out here and bash on us people that rightfully belong here. Thumbs down is them meaties way of showing superiority.

I don't think it is a "thumb down", but OUT-CRY.
Humans—who enslave, castrate, experiment on, and fillet other animals—have had an understandable penchant for pretending animals do not feel pain. A sharp distinction between humans and ‘animals’ is essential if we are to bend them to our will, make them work for us, wear them, eat them— without any DISQUIETING TINGES OF GUILT OR REGRET.

For modern animal agriculture, the less the consumer knows about what’s happening before the meat hits the plate, the better. If true, is this an ethical situation? Should we be reluctant to let people know what really goes on, because we’re not really proud of it and concerned that it might turn them to vegetarianism? If the public knew more about the way in which agricultural and animal production infringes on animal welfare, the OUTCRY WOULD BE LOUDER.

its a form of bullying by omnivores towards vegetarians. omnivores believe that we think we are superior to them so they have to put us down or sneer at our eating habits.
