Do you get fat vegans?!
Answers: because I've been vegan for two weeks now and I totally haven't lost any weight?

Very definitely yes. But probably genetic.
To lose weight (assuming you actually need to and don't have some eating disorder) you generally need a combination of diet AND exercise. If you're still eating the same amount of fat and calories now as you did before you were vegan and not doing any more exercise then guess what? You won't lose any weight!
Another thing is that two weeks on ANY diet (unless it's starvation) isn't going to yeild that much of a weight change.
You can be a vegan but still eat a lot.

Being overweight comes from many factors - eating too many calories, being very inactive, genetic predisposition towards obesity, having a larger frame or build in general, or even a thyroid condition or other medical condition that causes people to put on weight.
There are far, far fewer overweight vegans in proportion to the general public, but it is only partially credited towards their vegan diet. The rest are due to other forces, as I said.
You need to costumize your diet to fit your own individual needs. If you're fat just being a vegan alone more than likely produce any rapid results. Try adding a bit of exercise to your diet and avoid things like soda, binging on sweets and read your labels.
There's no reason why just going vegan should make you lose weight - it isn't a weight loss regime.
Yes there are fat vegans, just as there are fat omnivores and fat vegetarians. The same old rules about healthy eating and exercise still apply.
A number of people have been deceived by the authors of Skinny B!tch into thinking that a vegan diet will automatically lead to weight loss; it isn't true.

If you're eating more calories than you're expending, yes you're going to get fat. That's common sense. Veganism is related to ethics. It's not a weight loss diet.

Two weeks is not really enough for your body to naturally change.
Vegan doesnt necessarily mean healthy.. Junk food can still be vegan, unhealthy eating habits can still be vegan, genetics can still be vegan, lifestyle can still be vegan

Vegan, vegetarian or meat eater doesn't make any difference of your "fatness" or "thinness"!
It's the amount you eat,
what you eat (and, yes, there's plenty of very fatty food non animal origin, such as "cooking oil, nuts...),
and when you eat (eating less than 4 hours before bedtime is bed for you, not only for your weight, but diabete problem too).
What you drink have an effect on your wieght too. Alcohol has plenty of calories (yet suitable for vegan).
Vegan or not, if you want to loose weight, eat healthly, balanced meals.

YEP there are fat vegans just like there are fat vegetarian/omnivores. It all depends on what you eat, how much you exercise and genetics.
It's not a diet plan. If you went vegan because you read "Skinny B***h" and thought it would make you lose weight, I hate to break it to you but weight loss is a function of burning more calories than you consume, regardless of whether or not those calories contain animal bits. There are fat vegans just as there are skinny vegans and medium-sized vegans and fit vegans and lazy vegans and short vegans and tall vegans. If you want to lose weight, cut down your calories and increase your exercise.
If you are looking to veganism for wait loss, you are badly mistaken. Or you will kindle an eating disorder.
Calorie matters. Generally vegetarians / vegans meal 'portion" is higher in veggies & fruits.
Junk food : Generally less choice & options available in free market for vegans. Vegan & vegetarians deprive from most junk food.
Vegans do not eat most cakes, ice-cream and fast food as they contains egg, dairy, honey and animal ingredients.
Anyway, excess carbs, protein and fats will make a person fat. Therefore the meaters have "more chances" to become fat than a vegetarian.
Now you would understand why V&V is a sort of disciplining / moderating the sense rather than becoming as "instincto".
yep thats the way to lose weight NOT. being vegan wont help you lose weight whjat it will do is encourage your body to shut down slowly to start with but then once you have started to lose your mental stability and grip on reality through lack of proper protien and trace elements your acutely obsessive behaviour will become to much and you will being one of the most boring people in the world. So being thin wont be any good to you because you will also have bad breath and BO and a short irrational temper. So go for it sacrifice your life for the cause

Yeah, there are fat vegans. As others have pointed out, some of us have a genetic predisposition to being on the heavy side. If you cut some of the crap out of your diet and exercise a more, that will help you lose some weight.
Well, it depends if you eat chips, candies, greasy veggie food, etc on whatever vegans can eat [unhealthy or healthy]... or probably your gene's effect [if you are obese or chubby].
Some healthy foods have effects to gain more carbs like pasta [spaghetti with pasta sauce] or just because you are a vegan for two weeks, that does not mean you can lose weight already, it takes time because I'm a pescetarian [vegetarian who eats fish] for 2 months from now on, and I have lost around 5 pounds. It takes time.
Yeah. donuts, pie, cookies, bread, candy, soda, beer and liquor are all vegetarian and those are the things that make all people fat.
Forgot to mention pasta and pizza dough. oh and cheese (if you eat that). Most weight loss people I've heard have said, cheese is the big diet no-no.
