I am against the slaughtering of animals and eating of their corpes. I do not find the word "veggie" offensive.
PETA is a bit extreme in getting there message across, but what they say is true! God meant for us to eat animals but not in mass numbers and by cruel slaughter. Not only is that my only concern, look up animal testing...or lab animals be prepared so pictures that will rip your heart if you are an animal lover. I try my best not to use products that are tested on animals, Cover Girl is one of them i think.A great book to read on this matter is an eye opening book despite the title, its called "skinny *****".
yes, what they say is true. their method of getting their message out is extreme, but then again, it's an extreme message that many people don't want to hear or accept. yes the animals that are eaten everyday are raised in factory farms, tortured, abused, in pain, fed other dead animals and pumped full of antibiotics. all so we can have the conveneince of whatever meats we want, however we want them, whenever we want them! it's selfish because they are going through this pain and suffering when we dont' actually need these items. we can live perfectly healthy (in fact healthiER) without meat products.
and no i say "veggie" all the time cuz i get tired of typing out vegetarian so im not going to get offended :)
Me. There's no need to eat animals. The thought of putting a corpse in my mouth is enough to make me puke!
'veggie' is only offensive when people that eat only one type of meat--say chicken--and call themselves veggie. I don't want them in my pigeon hole thankyouverymuch
1. Vegetarianism has nothing to do with peta.
2. You should go vegetarian if you feel it's right for you, whether it's for health, environment, or animals. It's not going to work if you're doing it just because someone says you should.
3. Typing like that is obnoxious.
4. OhWell: Do you really not realize what a hypocrite you are? Everything you've posted while trolling in the V&V section reeks of self righteousness. If you don't want to go vegetarian, then don't. But get the **** over yourself.
No, I'm not, but what I am against, is PETA and their hypocrisy. They say that they save animals from cruelty, but yet they kill animals by sticking needles into their flesh (cruelty) frequently .
I also don't support the nude adds and campaigning that they think is so cute.
One day I was driving down the street and saw 4 women standing in the nude slightly covered up with a PETA sign at the edge of the road. As I stopped at the stop light, I had to tell my children to turn their heads from the abominations for a "good cause" standing on the side of the street.
I wondered what in the heck would ever posses PETA to support a campaign called the "Naked Truth", whilst little children would be seeing something that they have been told was immorally wrong to do. The police would be called on me, if I was to go out into the street naked covered with a sign, and my neighbors would be appalled (for right reasons). But yet PETA and their sick perverted propaganda has seemed to get away with their trashy influence.
They would be better off to stand in the street holding up some of the dead animals from the trash cans in the back of their facilities while shouting their animal slaughter messages.
Its your choice to be a vegetarian, and to support PETA, but I would never take part is such a self righteous lifestyle.
Yup.Everything they say is true but PETA is a bit strong getting their message out there. You should become a veggie because you want to not because PETA said so
Vegetables are what "food" eats. Animals are here for us to eat. If they weren't good to eat, I would probably hunt them and shoot them just for fun.
It is amazing that the number of "educated" people that we have running around here trying to get on the bandwagon. How many of you people believe that animals are "tortured, abused, in pain, fed other dead animals and pumped full of antibiotics" have ever been to a farm? Do you really believe this line of "bull"? Just because some "educated" person put that info on the web that it is true?
Most of you that believe in this type of misinformation would take time to educate yourself a little bit you would find most of it to be false and misleading. For those that do not have the opportunity to go to a farm, it is not set up to be picture perfect where you take your dog for boarding (wait you wouldn't cage your pet would you?? or for that matter keep a pet in your home... against its will. If you do, shame on you). The food found in the store is some of the safest food to eat in the world. The standards set in this country for meat, egg & milk production are very rigid. Antibiotics are used under the direction of veterinarians and meat taken to slaughter must wait for drug residues to be clear before the animal can be processed. Every tank of milk on every farm is sampled before it is loaded onto the truck. Positive antibiotic samples on a truck are dumped and the responsible farmer must pay for the wasted milk, this can cost upwards of $8,000 per tanker. It is not in the farmers economic interest to send tainted food products to market.
For those of you who oppose the use of animals for our food and fiber in this country, you have no idea of what is involved to maintain and feed a nation on nuts and tofu. There are literally hundreds of by products that we use for our comforts and consumptions from animals. You may complain about mass slaughter of animals, but what do you have to compensate the void in the food chain with. Inhumane slaughter, you have no idea of what you are talking about. Animals are not tortured. They are killed instantly. You may not agree with this and that is ok, but it is quick and virtually painless. You place your compassionate senses onto the animal industry yet offer nothing to replace the food demand that would be required to replace it. If you do not want to eat meat, that's your choice, but keep your senseless rantings to yourself. Now I have finished my ranting. :p
Yes, I think the PETA is a great resource and activist group. Many people say that it is extreme but only because it shows footage of the extreme cruelty and gore of the meat industy.
its called the circle of life.....
