Low calorie sauce?!

Question: I asked this yesterday... but I thought maybe I would get some responses tonight.

I am a vegetarian.. and I eat tons of veggies. Sometimes raw.. most the time I steam them though.. or maybe fry them. I am looking for something to put on them. I am trying to lose weight.. so nothing high in calories. I use soy sauce most the time.
THANKS!

If you love garlic use minced garlic in the stir fry oil or just smash some and toss with the veggies before you steam them. Citrus zest is wonderful too - either use a fine grater or a vegetable peeler and finely mince it. So much flavor for so little.
Invest in a couple fresh herb plants - parsley, chives and rosemary are easy to grow in pots or containers and you can snip off what you need and they keep growing. Plain yogurt mixed with herbs and seasonings makes a great sauce or dip for vegetables too - raw or steamed. Invest in some really good extra virgin olive oil. A little drizzle adds a lot of great flavor and not many calories.

You have to stay away from the salt, and even low sodium soy has way to much salt. You need to satisfy that "fat" craving. It is the smooth texture on your tongue. Stick with a ranch or a blue cheese, but just limit the amount to 1 to 2 tablespoons at the most. Good luck crud I just looked at the sodium content on ranch.. well, I like to use vinegar on broccoli and it it is good for your liver. smells terrible though..

ken's has a lite honey mustard sauce which is awesome and i hate lite anything--this tastes like the real deal.

You can try squeezing orange, lemon or lime juice over them, and grating some zest on top also. Orange is good on carrots, and lemon on asparagus and broccoli for example. Salsa is very low in calories. I also like the new marinades that are out in stores. I tried Tequila lime recently, and also Jerk Chicken and they were both good. It did not take much to flavor some veggies. Measure it though to be sure you don't over do it.

If your looking for a sauce to liven things up....try 1 part veggie stock to 1 part lemon juice...and a little dill....cook it down to about half...

Mustard, homemade hummus (can make it w/o oil), bragg liquid aminos, guacamole (high in good fat)...

Thousand island dressing is also awesome on veggies! Try that, ranch, or blue cheese, but maybe look for the low fat/ low calorie versions...
Also, have you tried making guacamole dip, and using that for dipping the veggies in? I wouldn't recommend buying the pre-made, pckaged kind, as I think it tastes disgusting!
You could always mash up an avocado, and mix in a small amount of fat free sour cream (to thin it out, and make it easier for dipping) for an easy, simple avocado dip.
Or if you want to get a littl fancier with it, here's the guacamole recipe that I use:
2 avocados (mash)
dice up one small tomato (roma tomatoes are a good size for this portion size)
a small amount of finely chopped/ minced onions
chopped cilantro (optional)
1 or 2 tablespoons of lime juice (helps to prevent the avocado from turning brown as fast, as well as adding great flavor!)
If you like spicy things, also try adding a dash of hot sauce (whichever kiind you prefer!)

How about hummus?
