Losing weight, any suggestions?!

Question: I am a vegetarian in the process of becoming a complete vegan. As a first step, I have removed all dairy products from my diet. I replaced dairy products with vegan diet. But as soon as I did that I noticed that there was a sudden loss in my weight, even though I never seem to have cut down the calories themselves. And right now I seem to be losing weight at the rate of 1-2 pounds per week. And I am also addicted to coffee. But once I drink coffee, it kills my appetite. I tried to stop coffee, but if I don't drink it for more than a day or two, I don't feel good. Any suggestions to stop this weight loss and coffee addiction?

Just increase your calories... eat vegan calorie dense foods like avocados, nuts and dried fruit - all of which pack in 130 calories or more per single ounce because of either high (healthy) fat content or low water content. Have plenty of whole grain pasta and enjoy richer sauces, stir fry and put vegan margarine on your bread - you are the envy of dieters nation wide. ;)

As for the caffeinated beverages? It depends how much caffeine you consume - 2 cups or so a day isn't that terrible for you, my mother has been drinking 3 cups of strong coffee a day or more for nearly 3 decades now. Like any stimulant, your body is probably addicted to it, and you'll experience withdrawal - that's why you don't feel good. You just have to go through it, it shouldn't take more than a few days... you might want to gradually cut back instead.

Maybe switch to decaf coffee so that your body still goes through the motions of having coffee, and so that you trick yourself in a way. Or try tea, which has less caffeine. After a while, just switch to water, it's the perfect drink. Since caffeine also has a diuretic effect, you might not be holding onto any water - if you cut out the caffeine and up your water intake, you might gain some water weight too... and you'll look and feel SO much better if you are hydrated.

1. Get your blood sugar tested.
2. Switch to black tea and then to green tea. Caffeine addiction is best kicked gradually.
3. Work out

i know it sounds simple but get a lot of cardio and other excercise

eat more fattening fruits and vegetables like avocados just keep eating vegs without eating meat you wont get all the b vitamins you need your body's metabolism should slow down then you ll start gaining weight back
