What kind of vegetarian are you? You mentioned vegan in the title but then said vegetarian in the question.
There's: Ovo, Lacto, lacto-ovo, strict, or vegan.
If you eat well you shouldn't need to supplement anything unless you want to. "Eating well" means lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and greens.
Inevitably someone will come along and say you need b12. If you're eating ANY animal products (eggs, dairy, anything.) you will get sufficient B12. Otherwise, most foods nowadays are fortified. You can get your B12 in lots of prepackaged foods. If you don't eat any fortified foods, you can supplement a B complex every once in a while (the body stores b12 for 20-30 years, you'll be hard pressed to find someone deficient unless they have absorption issues) or eat some kind of yeast based food (nutritional yeast, blackstrap molasses) to get your b12.
I'm vegan and I usually get all my vitamins from the foods I eat because I eat healthy, balanced foods, however, I do take a multi-vitamin specifically made for vegans, just to get my extra fill.
I use the DEVA Vegan Multivitamin and mineral supplement.
Check out their website below (they are Vegan Society certified.)
If you eat a diet rich in fruits, veggies, legumes, beans, pulses, leafy greens, and other healthy, whole foods, you won't need to take vitamin supplements. Most vitamins are derived from genetically modified plants, and often, animal sources. Vitamin supplements are a bunch of marketing hype and totally unnecessary for anyone who eats a well balanced diet. My daughter (age 13) and I have been veggies for years, and we have our vitamin levels checked every year-they are always perfect, or "above normal". We take no vitamins or supplements of any kind-we just eat a well balanced, healthy diet. Good for you for making better choices about your diet. Eating "clean" makes you feel so much better. Just be sure to keep a good balance, and read up on the topic. The library is a great place to start.
I go for ease and economy. Every day, twice a day if I remember, I take a few ounces of Silk Very Vanilla soy milk and put about a tablespoon of unsulphured blackstrap molasses in it & stir. It is SO good & gives me B vitamins including B12, potassium, & calcium (other stuff, too but those are the important ones). Also at least once but I try for twice a day, I take an Emergen-C packet, empty it in a glass, add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and add some water. It sounds gross but it's actually really tasty & so good for you. Emergen-C has 1,000% of vitamin C for the day plus B vitamins & some other minerals. And apple cider vinegar alkalizes your ph which keeps you from getting many kinds of ailments.
If you eat a balanced diet you shouldn't need supplements.
I agree, a well rounded diet doesn't need any.
But, living in modern times, livening in the city, living in the north, etc... It can't hurt to include such things as flax or hemp seed oil, nutritional yeast, miso, tempeh, soy yogurt, etc. and perhaps some spirulina. If you can, start your own garden. So many interesting things to grow that simply do not exist in the stores. before we had a backyard, we had plots in the community garden. It can be done on the apartment balcony too... all kinds of options.
We need the same vitamins as everybody else needs. Here is a good site that list food sources for the vitamins we need:
