Since this has got to be a question, what shall I serve with my new invention?!

Question: I'm probably going to get loads of you say you've done this/had this before, but last night I got some medium sized closed cup mushrooms, took out the stalks, filled it with garlic and herb cream cheese 'sandwiched' two together, egg and breadcrumbed them then deep fried them (leave them an hour in the fridge to 'set' first)
I served them with salad and garlic mayo, and some spicy Jacket wedges - (my own homemade).
Do you think they'd be nice with cous cous or pasta too?
I'm going to try mixing 'Phily' soft cream cheese with these various other flavours :sweet bell peppers (finely chopped), and
Vegetarian cheddar and onion.
Any other flavours you can think of to put in the cream cheese?

Hiya hon :o) xxx They sound really great! I think your mushrooms would be just gorgeous with cous-cous (I love cous-cous) xx Maybe for a change, try to fill them with a little goats cheese and some finely chopped spring onion (scallions) or possibly some french cheese like brie or camembert - both of which are beautiful when breadcrumbed and deep fried! :o) I love your questions - have a star, but save some mushrooms for little old meeee! xxxx

Bacon and scallions or jalapenos.

To Britney (the only reason why I'm answering):
Did you ever come to the fact that this man is probably from another country?
You do know there are other English-speaking countries in the world, right?

And I don't like mushrooms, though I have to say it would be a good recipe.

wouldnt have them with pasta, id actually just have them on there own as a starter or a snack, sounds lovely tho

You could try an italian verson w/ basil, oregano and a little bit of tomato or tomato sauce. Maybe sun-dried tomato? I don't know if these need to be served w/ anything but a nice salad and a great beer. They sound tasty!

throw in a chilli, chopped.

I'd prefer mushrooms with cous cous, pasta and mushrooms are too similar texture for me.

You could roll the breaded mushrooms in some herbs - the deep frying might kill the taste though.

How about using brie instead of creamcheese ? - it would be a richer taste.

Good question - just how this site should be.

cheers

I may add rice well boiled then some semi fried vegetables like carrots, onion, eggs, soya sauce, cucumbers. May experiment with peas and sweet corn too mixing adding black pepper and chopped garlic.
Bon appeti!
