My oven is broken...?!

Question: My oven and stove top are broken - can't use them at all. I do have a crock pot, a microwave, and a Townecraft electric skillet. Any good recipes for using the cooking tools I have until I get my oven fixed???

(I posted in this group because we can't have dairy or dairy products in our recipes.)

Thanks for any help!

I would check out www.vegweb.com and look under stews for the crockpot im sure you can find something there!

Veggie Chile.. I use 5 different kinds of beans.. 1 can of tomatoes.. 2 cans of tomato paste.. I drain all cans of beans but 1 can i leave the juice in. i throw everything together.. put in some Chili Mix spices onions, Garlic, and some fresh basil.. Throw it all into a crock-pot and let it sit for around 4 hours.. GREAT STUFF.. and filling..

You could make the things you normally make using those appliances.

Skillet: breakfast foods like pancakes, eggs, waffles, etc. Also you could do burgers, grilled cheese, quesadillas, panini, pork chops, garlic bread and such.

Crock pot: any type of soup such as chili, chicken noodle, chowder, pumpkin, squash, potato. Stews, even lasagna, fajitas, and desserts.

Microwave: Rice, pasta, hot dogs, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, soup.

You have it easy. One time my microwave broke and I thought I was going to die.

(I'm sorry. I missed the part about no dairy. Modify as needed).

Microwave veggie soup:

Chop some veggies and microwave hard veggies (like potato, carrot, onions, etc.) for about two to three minutes in a splash of oil, add some vegetable broth, microwave for another two minutes then add soft veggies (tomatoes, spinach, etc.) and microwave for two more minutes. Throw in some herbs/spices of your choice and your good to go.

Depending on the climate where you are, these recipes are fun, nutritious, and delicious: goneraw.com/recipes They never contain dairy. Some of the recipes are intimidating, but many are quick and easy. I'm in sunny southern Cali so I enjoy this type of food year-round. I would suggest it to anyone in their summer months as it's light yet filling and wonderful.
If it's cold where you are right now, you may want to buy ready-made entrees (Amy's non-dairy or Boca) or soup and heat it in the microwave, or search for "vegan crock pot recipes" online that will never pull up dairy or dairy products in the ingredients.
I hope your kitchen is functioning again soon! Best of luck trying new ways of cooking.
