I use real food. real meat mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Some tofu you can cook, others you don't or just tastes better un-cooked.
Frying it (in no oil) is a good way :) It really depends in which tofu your cooking, seeing there are so many different types!
good luck
Cube it and use it in stir fry.
a quick dip in egg, and fry it. Eat with soy sauce.
Or can mix it with stir-fried veggies.
Steam it... or just put it in soup.
Tofu comes in many forms. What most people are familiar with are the blocks that can be found in most supermarkets or Asian food markets. These blocks come in many different textures from silky to extra firm.
All of these types of tofu will generally absorb and reflect back the flavors of whatever sauce you cook them with.
Stir-frying works best with firm and extra firm tofu. I like making a simple garlic sauce or using oyster flavored sauce.
If you eat meat, look for packages of Ma Bo Tofu mix in the Asian section of your supermarket. One package of mix, one pound of tofu and an one-pound roll of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage. Fry the sausage, add the mix and tofu, stir and serve over rice!
For soup, bring one quart of chicken or vegetable broth to a boil; add a package of frozen peas and carrots; a "thumb" of ginger (julienne cut); return to boil; add two beaten eggs, then stir; add tofu. Salt and white pepper to taste. Top with chopped green onions.
Bon Appetit!
How do I cook tofu? In someone Else's kitchen as this stuff is NASTY. I would rather eat the leather my boots are made of than eat that stuff. Best meal is potato's and gravy, and a thick T-bone steak cooked rare. use real food and leave the tofu, soybeans, and other odd plant for the cows to eat then eat the cows.

Not a fan of firm tofu, it tastes kinda rubbery. Id rather use mushrooms. But soft tofu is great for baking and smoothies. I like to use it in banana smoothies
Banana smoothie:
1/2 banana
2 tbs oats
1 tbs soft tofu
1 tsp honey (raisins for vegans)
1/2 cup light soy milk
small pinch of cinnamon.
blend it all up.... makes bout 1 glass
some one asked a similar question earlier. here's the link. hope it helps.

Well, for me i would prefer the very soft type, just add 1 teaspoon sugar and 3 to 4 drops vanilla essense, and voila, vanilla tofu..........quite nice, its my fav, btw tofu is not as filling as beancurd, maybe you should try eating beancurd instead.
I usually use firm tofu in stir frys, while I use soft (silken) tofu in baking recipes like chocolate cake. Look up some recipes, usually if you need to drain the water out of the tofu I squeeze it between my hands for a few seconds then I put it on a paper towel on a plate and put a pot full of water on top of the tofu for 20 minutes to get out most of the water, if needed. Then you can pat the tofu with some more paper towel, for stir frying I found it works best to cut the tofu into strips after getting most of the water out then coating all sides with corn starch then frying with a healthy oil such as olive oil, however I could go on forever since cooking oils at a high temperature loses the nutrients and has been argued to be even cancerous. I'll stop now though :P
