I thought E.L.F. was against animal cruelty?!
" Silk Powder which is made from ground up silk worm cocoons"
... Isn't that promoting exploitation of animals?
yeah, they're worms, but still.
What I'm getting at is this;
Also for their Charity fun raiser, its 'against' animal cruelty with PETA.
But, if they're so against this, why did they put ground up silk worm cocoons in their mineral makeup?..
Answers: In their new Mineral Make-up, an ingredient is:

another of their ingredients is Carmine which is a dye made from crushed up cochineals. feel like insects are all over you? they are.
All companies are for MONEY.
I know they don't have animal testing, but I avoid animal ingredients so I don't like the sounds of that.
I suppose it depends on how they get the cocoons
when they make silk thread, they boil the cocoons with the silk worms still inside them. that kills the worms but in a lot of cases apparently they're actually eaten so it's not like they go to waste (I saw that on like the travel channel or something....)
but if the cocoons are collected after the worms have already abandoned them and then they're ground up, I don't see anything questionable about it
They don't claim to be vegan. They claim to be cruelty free in regards to animal testing. Yeah, it's nonsensical but i'll take a company that has some vegan products over none. Every little bit helps.
ELF is scary ****.
and they do whatever they please.
that's why.
