Im going to try being a vegetarian, what should i do to replace the nutrition that i get from meat?!
You can also use a protein powder for a shake, or to add to foods you are going to cook. I prefer the unflavored type, so I use one called Super Green Pro-96 soy protein. I can add it to juices, smoothies, cakes, cookies, breakfast foods, main dishes... pretty much whatever occurs to me.
bean sprouts contain quite a bit of protein -- it is better to eat them raw, but you could lightly cook them into cooked dishes.
raw nuts and seeds contain probably the most protein you will find on a raw, unprocessed diet... you can eat them as is, or make nut milks and seed milks. If you cook them, you spoil the protein.
If you are going to eat animal products, as many people do, you can eat eggs and milk products.
Good luck.
Answers: for straight protein, you can use tofu -- there are lots of recipes out there for how to use tofu (you can fry it, bake it, or add it to salads, blend it into smoothies, and more). There are different densities, so you can choose what you like. You can even find flavored tofu in supermarkets and health food stores.

meat=Protein.......Beans and nuts= protein
You have to include more of pulses and green leafy vegetables. As meat gives you lot of proteins and also fat. But you need not replace the intake of fat as it is better to avoid it. To replace the animal fat you have supplements like cheese, butter, oily foods etc.
SPIRULINA
read up on it...extremely high in protein
Good for you... to have a healthy diet, simply eat enough calories to maintain your body weight (e.g., don't live on just salads) and include a variety of foods (fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains) in your diet.
Veggie burgers and other fake meats usually have lots of nutrients and they make the transition to vegetarianism easier. See http://www.vegcooking.com/guide-favs.asp for a list of popular products.
Also, check out this list of vegetarian foods that are high in protein and iron: http://www.tryveg.com/cfi/toc/?v=08sourc...
Good luck!
I've been a vegetarian for two years now, and everything I've researched suggests that the recommended amount of daily protein is a pretty bloated figure and you really don't need to worry much about replacing large amounts.
I honestly get enough without thinking about it. Fake meat products (Boca, MorningStarFarms) all have protein, and some of them are SOOOOOOOOO good. The spicy "chicken" patties, "chicken" nuggets, corn dogs, ground beef, and barbeque "rib" patties are among my favorites.
Also, as far as beans, check out garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas) if you haven't tried them. They're what's in hummus, but I love them plain on salad, or I even found a recipe for garbanzo fries (made from garbanzo flour) that are AMAZING. You can get them dried and you have to soak/cook them yourself (hassle) or you can get them canned (easy).
Soy milk has protein too, and to be honest, I like the stuff better than "real" milk. You have to try different kinds though. I worked at Starbucks for a while, and they use a specially-formulated-for-Starbucks-latte... kind of Vanilla Silk Soy that is AMAZING, but the Vanilla Silk Soy they sell in the store just isn't as good. See if you can get someone at a Starbucks to sell a carton to you (when I did this it was cheaper than the grocery store!) Also, if you have Trader Joes (grocery store) by you, their brand of soy milk is amazing. Especially their chocolate. Also, Silk Soy sells juice-box sized containers, so look around for those (vanilla and chocolate) if you want to try a little bit without buying a whole quart.
Also make sure you are taking a B12 vitamin! Just pick up a bottle ($4) at the grocery store. Take one daily with food. I'd be a good idea to take a multivitamin, but the B12 is the most important thing you'll be missing out on. I didn't realize this until I had been meatless for a good year, and I noticed once I started taking it I had more energy, motivation to do things, etc.
Definitely check out veganoutreach.org, they're my favorite vegetarian-friendly organization. They're more about spreading information than protesting (i.e. PETA) and they have some invaluable information on their site.
Congrats on the decision, I'm so glad I did it!!!! It's liberating once you realize how much you don't need meat. It's so easy to make a meal without meat, you don't need to go into the complicated tofu stuff. My favorite is getting a sweet-and-sour chicken packet from the store (ethnic food aisle), adding frozen veggies and MorningStarFarms fake chicken strips. You'll definitely come to realize it's spices, flavors and sauces you enjoy, rather than the meat itself. Good luck!
If there is one piece of advice I can give anyone on becoming vegetarian, it's to invest in some Beano. Your insides are going to be pummeled with gas-producing veggies and it's going to suck at first. You'll thank me later!
Just eat a mix of lentils, beans (canned or dried), grains (oats, buckwheat, wheat, quinoa, rice, etc). There are fake meats in the frozen food section, such as Quorn, Morningstar Farms and Bocca Burgers. Soy milk, rice milk and almond milk in the dairy section. Fruits and veggies.

protein from tofu, beans, "fake"/soy meats, soy products, peanut butter, nuts, etc. and veggies! veggies do have protein too along with a ton of other nutrients. make sure your getting a good variety of grains, protein, veggies, fruits and you'll be more than fine.
