People think vegetarians have nothing to eat but there really is alot.
You can still eat vegetables (obviously), fruits, breads and carbs, cheese, dairy products,
Eggs and beans especially help for protein since most protein is in meat.
I'm trying to become vegetarian also, or at least eat less meat. After you watch or read about what they do to animals before they become our food...ugh it's terrible and disgusting.
You can experiment with different meat substitutes - like veggie burgers. I haven't personally tried any, but one brand out there has to be good.
I suggest you make sure you always have frozen vegetables in the freezer. Frozen vegetables can be heated up in the microwave and ready to eat in just a few minutes.
Try something like low sugar cereal, or oatmeal with fruit in the morning. Fruit, nuts, or other healthy foods for snacks. For lunch and dinner eat lots of vegetables and things like brown rice, and healthy pastas. Remember to eat beans and/or nuts&seeds because you still need some protein, just not from meat.
Boca Burgers and Boca Italian sausages are really good. I like being a vegetarian. But it can get expensive...
I'm vegetarian, and I ate everything like before, but instead of meat I had a piece of vegetables, or I started to eat kuskus with different ways prepared vegetables, or buckwheat with spring onion which is delicious, just eat everything like before and replace meat with something different what you like, there's lot's of food to choose from. Or I also eat soy meat with rice and vegies again.

First you must know that although a vegetarian diet can be very healthy, simply omitting meat does not insure good health. You will need to eat meat alternatives.
Beans and legumes;
Navy beans, fava beans, black-eyed peas, kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, brown lentils, green lentils, beluga lentils, garbanzo beans (chick peas), walnuts, pistachios, almonds, macadamia nuts, sunflower seeds, peanuts, hazelnuts, etc. etc.
False meats;
Tofu, tempeh and seitan.
Note that protein is in just about everything, meat particularly high in it. The only thing that you will need to supplant unless you are deficient already is B12.

When I first started, I would do simple substitutions, like preserves and peanut butter sandwiches instead of turkey for lunch. Stir fry is easy. You don't have to mess with tofu if you don't want to. I was vegetarian for two years before I had tofu! Meat substitutes make it pretty easy to make the switch, too.
Being a vegetarian is like having this really cool commitment and people think you're super picky because you don't eat jello or gummy worms or things like that but you get to feel better about your decisions because you're actually thinking about what you put in your belly.
I'm not a full vegetarian but i started with all sorts of fruits and salads, started cutting off the meat slowly and went from there...been 3 years and running!
