Yes you can. DHA can be found in a couple vegan supplements but also ALA is converted in the body to DHA in non-diabetics. Great sources of ALA are soybeans, walnuts, canola oil, flaxseed products, etc.

No; however the body can manufacture it from alpha linolenic acid, which IS present in flax seeds, borage and some nuts.
