Serious question for vegetarians...?!
Answers: If vegetarians think it is wrong for humans to kill animals for food, what do they think about animals killing other animals for food?
I don't think there's any comparison between the two. True carnivores must kill to survive; it's their place in nature. Humans are not carnivores, we're omnivores and we are fully able to thrive on a plant based diet. Furthermore, we have the ability to weigh the morality of any decision we make in life and with that ability, comes responsibility. I personally don't feel that killing animals for food is morally defensible when there are so many other options available to me.
It's kinda necessary. Natural carnnivores only survive off of animal flesh, and they're certainly built with the strength and agility to hunt and kill their prey.
I don't think they like to classify themselves with simple animals. I think they are a bit above that. Animals also lick their own asses and bite their fleas and that is fine for them but I myself would rather pass.
Other animals need to kill food to survive. Humans used to need to, but now we do not. Really the think that vegetarians are against is the mistreatment of the animals. If you don't know what I mean, watch this video - it would convince anyone!

this si the way i think of it.
i dont think that its wrong to kill animals, i just think its wrong the way people do it. if they didnt keep animals caged up the way they do, then i wouldnt have a problem eating meat, thats why i eat fish. and animals eating and hunting other animals is the way of life and in a lot of cases it controls the population of the animals.
Firstly, animals don't have the same sense of morality as people do. Secondly, I regard my dietary choices as a personal choice. It is wrong for me because I have decided it is wrong for me. You can do whatever you want. So can the animals.
No, its nature, its nature and you cant control nature. There is nothing else for animals to eat if the carnivores so they have to. But humans can easily live without meat. There are plenty of supplements that are available for humans, so killing animals for meat is unnecessary.
Obviously, humans have alternatives to eating meat and dairy and our bodies don't need it anyway so why not just live as peacefully as we can?
Other animals, however, need meat in their bodies to synthesize the right amino acids. We don't though.
I have often wonder the same thing, I am vegetarian also, how more to stay healthy, than for other reason. I also would like to know if they own leather coats, shoes, or have leather car seats. The list could go on and on, but you get my point.
I could go on and on and on about this, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
First of all, other animals are made to eat others, whereas humans aren't. Just a couple of examples; lions and other carnivores have stomach acid very different from humans', making it possible for them to consume all that raw meat. Humans need to cook the he** out of it just to safely consume it. Also, if you look at the difference in teeth, it should be obvious that humans aren't made to eat it.
Also, when these animals kill other animals, they do not torture them like humans do in slaughterhouses. The torture goes FAR beyond slaughtering them while they are still conscious...when an animal isn't moving forward in the line, workers prod them with metal, CHARGED rods (sometimes, sticking it in their eyes or anus) and blasting them in the face with pressurized water. Lions snap their neck. The end.
maybe "wrong" isn't the right way to put it.
To be more precise,
Its not NECESSARY for humans to eat animals for sustinance, this is due to an ever present agricultural evolution and the advancement of technology. While this maybe true of humans, it may not be true of other species that aren't as "advanced" as the human race.
Wild animals do not have the cognitive abilities to reason through the process and choose to change their diets based on a moral inclination. Humans do. It's that simple.
Domesticated carnivore pets can be fed meat-free food and be healthy. The "premium" brands like Purina all advertise about the many vegetables in the food anyway, and have little meat, so changing the protein source isn't a big deal.
Thats different;
Certain animals are carnviores and cant live without eating meat.
Human DO eat meat but can live without it.
They'd probably be healthier too
Since 60% of American detahs are from meat-related diseases.
True. But that big beef recall made me think about it twice eating process food. I wish we can all have animals that we can slaughter. At least we know where are food is coming from.
you wanna know why i am a vegetarian...
its cause...
I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants.
Animals killing other animals is a natural insinct and they do not have the mental capacity to do otherwise.
Humans do, thats the difference.
Also, i would point out that lions do not rear Zebras in cages just for the sole purpose of slaughtering them to eat. If they did that, we'd call it barbaric, wouldn't we ?
I agree with the person earlier who said its the way that humans kill animals. The meat industry is so wrong the way it treats animals. Eating meat was not so bad when people kept a cow and used it for milk and then killed it and ate it. With a rising population, the meat industry has become SO intensive. Other animals need meat to survive, humans may have done at one time, but not anymore.
when was the last time you saw a lion:
*breeding a cow,
*injecting it with all sorts of crap
*keeping it in tiny space
*then abusing it
*taking its baby away only after a few hours of birth for milk. *selling the cows skin for leather
and making billions of dollars of profit! -
Yeah!
I have a choice, the lion does not!
Please learn to think for yourself!
I dont know of any other animals that create giant ranches and slaughterhouses to get their food. When animals kill other animals for food, they must hunt it and kill it, and they target the weeker animals from their food source and strengthen the genetic pool of their prey. When we eat meat, we breed the animals for the optimum growth (thus creating the smallest population genetic variance and hurting the population,) we feed the with hormones and antibiotics that are then part of their waste and work themselves into the water supplys, and we raise them in such quantities that their natural methane is destroying the atmosphere. Do you see any differences between what animals do and what we do?
If I had the gumption to go out and properly hunt my own meat then I'd do it./ My problem with meat is about how they are treated, the fact that they are chock full of hormones and other nasty stuff and most of all environmental reasons. Livestock produce a great deal of nitrogen and other nutrients that get into the streams and rivers and cause lots of problems for the streem and fish. They also requre more grain to get fattened up then nutrition they provide, so if we were all vegetarian we would have more land and less fertilizers going to the streams.
Animals killing other animals is not a problem. For them it is necessary. I dont see why people would put themselves in the moral class as a lion or any other animal. We have morals, they do not.
what do they think about animals killing other animals for food?
They hold humans to a different set of rules which is unfair. Humans are animals too.
**
Animals who kill other animals for food need to do so. They are carnivores and don't have a choice.
We omnivores can make choices about the food we eat, for health or ethical reasons or both.
Just as we no longer NEED to live in caves (in the west anyway), or kill animals to use their skin for clothing, so we no longer NEED to kill animals for food.
Some of us choose not to eat meat.
I think word 'unnecessary' rather than 'wrong' would better describe how I feel about people killing animals for food.

We humans are Animals and we are not built to survive off of meat. you see we have the mouth of a horse our jaw opens up exactly at the degree of a horses. When a human first eats meat their body is not used to it so it take a while to get used to flesh for humans. people may say to yuo we are omnivores but the truth is says Albert einstein and many others say that we are herbevores. And to awnser your question if we were omnivores and we were in the wild it would be diffrent then capturing animals and making it so they never see their loved ones nor the light of nature. if i was living in the wild and i was a lion and i was hunting i would not consider it at all wrong because they are surviving off their natural food and diet because of the waye they were built and also it would not at all be wrong because atleast of the aniamls the lion was hunting you could say they lived a free life free in nature util their "destiny" came upon them which is okay cuz everyone has to die at some point and atleast his/her died in a suddle way but okay becasue they lived free and a happy life before they became food.
Humans are, by nature, closer to herbivores than omnivores. We don't have the teeth to crunch through bones, we don't salivate at the thought of tearing an animal apart and ripping its flesh off and lapping up the blood. That just isn't really in our nature. We have evolved to thrive off of veg, fruit and grains. Humans have no true instincts rather than smiling which is a debatable instinct. Carnivorous animals instinctually stalk, hunt and prey on other animals as a source of nutrients and undeniable urges to do so. They have claws and canines and bone crushing teeth for just that purpose. Humans have the responsibility and the intellect and versatility that enable us to decide upon our diets and whether taking the life of another sentient being is a routine that we want to incorporate into our daily lives.
I'm not real happy about that either.
They have hunting parties go out and kill carnivores. That's actually why a lot of the carnivores on Earth are going extinct. Not at all because there's the least energy available to animals at the top of the food pyramid, but because all them vegemetarians is shootin' em'. Sometimes the more conservative vegetarians catch the carnivores and put them on trial. So far every one they've put to their jury has been given the death penalty.
And of course they're responsible for global warming too. Who do you think is eating all the world's plants?
VEGETARIANS ARE EATING THE RAINFORESTS.
