Animals dont have feelings?!

Question: animals can't speak english or any other human language so they must not have feelings. infact, when i try to speak to my stuffed animal it told me every animal walking the planet doesn't have any feelings so it doesn't care if its someones dinner, it is living up to its expectations.

but, since it was made of cotton; i believe plants DO have brains. as cotton, you see, if you are an educated individual you will understand my theory. I am also in honors Geo and LATIN so, i do know my botanicals.

another day, another troll.

'animals can't speak english or any other human language so they must not have feelings.' I stopped reading after that. lol wow, are you real? plain dumb and ridiculous. if a person is mute does that means they do not have feelings?

go play with your toys. we all know that you have nothing else better to do.

animals have feelings

Your satire went completely downhill after you said your stuffed animal spoke to you.

... at least i hope this was meant to be satirical.

Please get help for your drug addiction.

You have honors in MORON, but that's about it.

A few posts ago, it was "plants have feelings, too." Now it's "animals have no feelings." Having a hard time making up your mind?

Lemme guess. You don't get enough attention from mommy and daddy, so you go online and deliberately annoy people to get the attention you so desperately crave in real life. Right?

they have feelings and think....more than I can say about some humans

Do.......you........have any idea what you are talking about?

All sounds like a load of jibberish from a nut. At first I thought you were going somewhere until you started talking about how your STUFFED animal has feelings and then how you know about plants because you are in Honors Geometry and Latin, which both have nothing to do with plants.

????? I'd cut down on whatever "botanicals" you're smoking there honey.

If animals don't have feelings than how come my dog puts down his ears and looks hurt if we laugh at him. And how come animals are so happy to see you and they need so much attention.

That's what makes humans special. Humans are the only ones that feel sadness, anger, happiness, shyness, etc. Most other animals are just neutral. With the exception of some primates. But animals do feel pain, (physically) and so it actually does care if it's leg is chopped off. Plants do not have brains, or any neurons anyways. I do kind of understand your theory, since I am also a fluent speaker of Latin roots. But I sort of disagree.

Here's why she's like this guys!!

Her question " I have mad cow, do you???"

Wow. You must be a very sad and blind individual if you think that living beings lack feelings just because you refuse understand their language. I didn't know that English is the only language in existence...your world must be very grey. You have my pity.

What is your question?

Animals have feelings similar to those of humans, said Marc Bekoff, a professor of biology at the University of Colorado, at a lecture on Thursday.

The U's Student Organization for Animal Rights invited Bekoff, who specializes in animal behavior, to speak about his research in the area of animal emotions.

"I accept that most animals have minds and they have very active minds," Bekoff said.

Bekoff said he believed animals have emotions by the way they act in certain situations.

He told a story of two primates, Flint and his mother Flo. When Flo died one day, Flint "immediately stopped traveling with the group, stopped eating, wouldn't play-and a couple of days later, he died not far from where Flo died."

During his lecture, Bekoff showed a film of animals playing. He said that how animals act during play proves they have minds and emotions because play requires fairness, trust, forgiveness and morality.

For example, when two dogs wrestle, they might bite each other. Bekoff said that dogs playing together must trust each other to bite gently.

He also showed slides of animals in various situations of distress, such as a pregnant cougar that was treed by some dogs, to show that animals could portray elements of emotion in "facial expressions."

Throughout his speech, Bekoff wove a message of respect toward animals. He condemned research conducted on animals, such as an experiment in which dogs were repeatedly shocked to examine the effect of learned helplessness.

"I like being a scientist, but I think science and scientists have to come clean. We need to be more socially responsible. We need to more compassionate. We need to be more heartful," he said.

He also urged the audience to take a "proactive, not reactive" stance against animal cruelty.

"I love activism. I love holding placards, but I also love compassionate activism," he said.

He suggested that people should write letters to the editor and not fall into the trap of heatedly arguing with somebody who opposes them.

"I'm not going to spend the rest of my life trying to argue with people because for a lot of people, that's derailing," he said. "They'd rather have you spend all your energy fighting them than fighting for the causes that are true to you."

Lidya Hardy, a member of SOAR, said she agreed that activism could be less pugnacious. She said she believes that animals are one of the most oppressed groups, but that all someone has to do to make a difference is change his or her diet.

Many people might try vegetarianism or veganism for the health benefits, and then become more committed once they read about the political

i think you need help

Uh huh....Animals don't have feelings....just because they do not speak "our" language....uh huh right.....and speaking to your stuffed animal is sure one way to ask about your questions....(end point of my sarcasm.)
People like you i really just want to give a whack to their heads. Seriously i must ask, are you deaf? If you are not, then you MUST have heard animal cries in your life one time or another. Cries are a feeling. A feeling of pain, loneliness etc..

I do not think i should spend my time going into more detail with a worthless idiot.
Good day.

My stuffed animals stopped talking to me when I was about 2 or 3. Sure, animals have feelings. I know I do. I'm pretty sure you might.
So, the question is: do you think you're an animal. If you can answer that, then you've answered you're own question.

Animals do have feelings. And they have brains to learn. They'll feel sad when they are sick or not feeling well. If they don't have feelings at all, they can not feel pain or hunger.

how do you figure that?
they cant speak ur language because they speak a different one.
and since they speak a different language to ours, we cant communicate with them and therefore cant teach them how to speak it.
that dosent mean thewy dont have feelings.
and they arent living up to any expectations, no-one wants to b eaten.
common sense tells me that all animals ort to be treated equally - not as someones lunch

i admire your concern for plants, but if you honestly think that an animal is meant to be eaten - ur not on my side.

Go away troll.

Animals do have feelings! Plants don't have brains this guy/gal is just having a little fun! Our family dog squeaks(no kidding)when he get hurts or whines!

Uh, so what you're saying is if something can't talk it must not have feelings...
Dude, now we can eat people who can't talk ! Good as !
Your a silly person in my opinion..
just because animals can't talk doesn't mean they dont have feelings..
Yes, yes plants have brains . But people eat plants but don't eat animals because they believe animals feel emotion and have more intellegent brains.. therefore having feelings etc etc.

I tend to agree with you.
