Question about trolls in the vegan section????!


Question: I was once a troll that trolled these parts under many different names. After coutless posts of trying to belittle you all, I have become educated on the subject of "veganism." Starting next week I will go veg*n and see how that goes.

Any thoughts?

We are a bunch of distrusting vegans around these parts.

If you mean it, good for you, now you can be trolled by all the other jerks around here and know how it feels :)

If you don't mean it, well, I guess you will probably get the heart attack you deserve lol kidding :)

Hey don't stay away...stay here for support, it's hard sometimes to be veg. People can alienate you and ask aggressive questions...you may need the support at sometime...seriously, you are doing a really good thing here. Good luck fellow veg. Report It

  • Wow! Well if you are serious, that's great! Good Luck and always ask for advice if you need it. If you set a date its almost destined to fail though, you should try to make the switch right now.

    To each his own. I do not have a problem with peoples diet. I do have a problem with some of the propaganda PETA and others put out.

    Well, good luck, then!! I am currently trying to get consent from my parents to become vegan myself. In order to do this, I have done LOTS of research. Here a little something I wrote up about health, along with sites that you can look at.

    Studies have shown that a diet free of meat and animal products protects us from numerous diseases and conditions, including heart disease, cancer, and strokes. Although a meat-free diet does offer better protection than one including meat, consumption of eggs and milk lead to osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, asthma, and male impotence. Vegans are also less vulnerable to frequently and easily spread ailments such as the common cold and the flu. This is due to the fact that vegans and vegetarians have, in general, stronger immune systems, which can not only prevent the catching of these ailments, but also lessen the symptoms if they are caught. In addition, vegans are 90% less likely to become obese than omnivores!

    A leading concern in many potential vegans is related to the vitamins, minerals, and proteins that are contained in meat, and whether they are still obtainable with a vegan diet. Actually, “meat” isn’t even specifically stated on the food pyramid! The food groups listed on the food pyramid in order of the number of servings recommended daily are: grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, proteins, and, under the “use sparingly” heading, fats, oils, and sweets. The following paragraph addresses how a well-balanced vegan diet consists of all of these components.

    Let us address the food groups in order of our recommended daily intake, beginning with grains. These are not a problem for vegans, as they can be attained from breads, pastas, tortillas, cereals, and other sources in the same way meat eaters can. The same is true of fruits and vegetables. Dairy, however, is something that many potential vegans worry about. However, when we compare the regular food pyramid to the vegan one, we see “dairy substitutes” in the place of dairy. For example, soy, rice, almond, or oat milk, vegan cheese, and soy yogurt provide the same things that we normally get from milk products, and can be used in the same ways. Protein for vegans is also a major concern for many people. Actually, an average American diet consists of way to much protein! Even so, we do need some protein, which is available in many foods, including nuts, soy products such as tofu, legumes, seeds, leafy green vegetables, and even grains. The only vitamin that vegans need to pay attention to is Vitamin B12, which is generally found on meat or milk products. This is available through fortified soy milk, some cereals or supplements, which should be taken often.
