No, it's never worth it because when I've tried it, guess what they do, they just don't put cheese on it -- they do not compensate by putting more vegetables on there... especially since the cost of cheese is so high compared to the veggies, I'd expect them to pile the veggies up high, but what do I get... one, two, three... 7 slices of mushroom, and just as many very thin slices of one or two other veggies.
The only time I order the vegan pizza is if the place specifically has a vegan pizza and knows what they are doing (and those have been awesome) -- otherwise, no thanks.
Sounds like a great idea. I used to do that too, but I don't do that anymore , I make my own pizza from scratch ever since I got married (before then, I did much the same). My husband knew how to make stuff with dough - he bakes vegan bread, cookies, buns, rolls, etc. - and he taught me to make pizza dough. It's actually really fun and I've been able to experiment more with toppings and using stuff like nutritional yeast, walnuts, vegan Parma substitute, etc. to develop my favorite combos.
It sounds like you just order toast, and you can make that at home for alot cheaper. If you were to order your pizza(toast) at least give the place something to put on it. i work at a restaurant and i would like to make this
if I order from Panago,I get the" veggie "pepperoni slices with no cheese but I load it up with red pepper, mushrooms, garlic ,onions,Yummmmm and cruelty-free!!!
maybe i shall order a pizza loaded with onions and peppers with no cheese
But wouldn't the dough have eggs in it?
I hope not...
Yeah, most of the major pizza joints will make vegan pizzas if you ask. We order one every week. We've found that if you ask for extra sauce, it makes up for the dryness that the lack of cheese would otherwise cause. We don't miss our old pizzas at all, and we've found a creative way to keep enjoying one of our old comfort foods.
Most of the major pizza chains offer nutritional info online so you can see if their crusts are vegan. Some are, some aren't.
Sounds like a good idea if you're sure the dough is dairy & egg free. But I prefer to make my own home made vegan pizza's. They taste better, the vegies are fresher and you can put what ever you like on them. YUM now I'm hungery.
LOL we do! I luv it piled high with fresh veggies.
YUM!
I don't know, but I am so having pizza for tea tonight. Mmmm
