Can eating meat cause bad skin?!

Question: Some days my skin is a lot worse than others... is more white, more acne and more blackheads. I had meatloaf tonight and my skin looks pretty bad right now. Do you think it could be the cause?

Any links/expert info?

It's hard to say that eating meatloaf caused the bad skin. One thing we do know is that meat dumps a lot of uric acid in your system and some of that has to be excreted through the skin. Try not eating meat for a while and see if it helps.

Yes, for sure. Eat lots of fruits and veggies to cleanse your system.
Why the hell did I get five thumbs downs? You people are @ssholes for shooting the messenger.
And Cali, what is your point? You first mention meat, and then you jump to protein. WTF do the two have to do with each other?

Red meat is not bad for you, fuzzy green meat is.

I don't believe meat is the cause, but the fat from it and grease from food. But fruit and veggies are excellent to keep your skin clean. I am proof of it.

A study showed that 6 percent of Americans don’t eat meat. A lack of protein can cause bad skin, brittle hair, a leaky gut and low energy. So no eating meat does not cause bad skin.

You are what you eat! Try a week of salads, milk, veggies, soup, beans, fish!

My chronic adult acne cleared when I became a vegetarian. I had tried every over the counter product as well as prescription drugs and still had bad breakouts. A few weeks after giving up meat my skin cleared beautifully. I think the hormones that are in meat exacerbated my skin condition.

I think that it would NOT show up that quickly.
Come on--it doesn't even show in your BOWELS for several hours..and it would take far longer to affect your skin.

all meat is bad for your skin you should flush your system and cleanse it at least one every two months or that might help clear up your acne

when i say cleanse i mean water, plus maple syrup, plus cayenne powder plus lemon juice..this is NOT a diet its a cleanse to rid your body of impurities you cannot live on it forever if your new at this start with a couple days and then add on a day every time you do a cleanse so after 4 or 5 months you might be able to cleanse for a week and a half instead of three days or w.e your comfortable doing

if u want more info go take an organic beauty book out of the library i did and my skin is so much better now that and while ur out go buy skinny bit ch i love that book

go vegg

I have been vegan for a year and my skin has stayed the same as when I was an omnivore. Which is not bad, just no change for me.

Acne doesn't show up that fast. But yes, your diet plays a HUGE role in your skin clarity.

Lets see Nooooooo. However eating bad meat can cause death which will cause your lots of trouble.

No, I eat alot of meat, and my skin is very clear, and always has been. But its not good to eat greasy meat.

I would say no, but meatloaf usually does contain something more than meat. It could have been something else you ate or used, or it could just be happening depending on your age, unless all you eat is meat for the most part and don't get many vitamins it could get pretty bad for you, and it also depends on the kind of meat that you eat.
