Have you ever imagined what it is like to be killed for food?!

Question: And I mean vividly. I consider this an exercise in compassion. If one can know what it is like and be willing to accept the same fate in some other life, or possibly even this life, than I believe such a individual to be less hypocritical in their eating habits.

If you truly want an accurate idea first watch any of the "Earthling" videos. I have even provided a link.

Actually, I have tried to imagine that....being conscious and strung up by a chain on my leg....my throat sliced while hanging upside down. (YIKES!!)
I've also wondered what I would taste like and if people would grill me, fry me, bake me, etc. Even if I was bad for people's overall health would they still eat me? (like beef, pork, etc.)
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's ever given it thought.

So what are you trying to say, if we think people would eat us, and kill us for food, that maybe we wouldnt' look at a cow, and say mmm that's dinner tonight. In reality that is the way the world works, we raise animals to eat, if you didn't eat, you won't be living anyways.

To be honest, I'd rather not be killed at all, but if I had to be killed, being killed for food would be way better than being killed for nothing.

So, Okay, A plant we eat while it's still half alive, usually still green and healthy.

A cow, we kill first.

Which is more humane?

it probably feels so painful that you do not care what happens to you

Do you mean I I were a cow would I want to be killed for food? No that would be inhumane.

Oh Man, after I watched earthling, I had really violent nightmares for a week....I mean really violent, I didn't know my mind could think up these things.

And it really got me afterward, how people can watch television and see people getting raped, killed, chopped up and abused...but can't watch a video of where their food comes from. I wish everyone would watch it (except my mom...she is too sensitive) :)

Yes. But I don't smoke marijuana anymore.

Why are you preaching to the people who already don't eat meat anyways?
**

Yes, I actually have, and it is a sobering visualization. I think more people should try it.
I think that so many people who still eat meat and such are unwilling to try any other point of view. It is frustrating.

I hate when people are all "We raise animals to kill and eat them"

Um ..no okay?
We are on this planet and so are all these animals and we are also animals;
Killing animals is the same as murder.

Vegitarian & Proud of it.

killing animals is not the same thing as killing a human. people are going to eat meat, deal with it. and if i was killed for food, i wouldnt care. id be dead.

that is a primal fear, im sure most people have, fear of death is rational and the fact that animals are made of meat means other animals want to eat them.

this is why kids have nightmares about the boogieman and monsters hiding under the bed, this is the primal brain telling the conscious brain that there is a possibility of danger. in the wild sleeping is rather dangerous, even for a mountain lion.

The fear of being food is a natural part of the natural killer instinct that all animals have, also called fight or flight.

and yes i have had a dream like that once or twice, but not like a butcher shop like thing, though i do like the musical of 'Sweeney Todd'

also there is a deviant fetish involving this, there was a German guy that killed someone, who volunteered, and ate his corpse for months, and currently in prison.

just a creapy little side note! XD

I believe in the Bible and what it allows us to eat.

i can't say that i have , but i don't find myself to be hypocritical maybe others do but have not told me . by the way i see the babies are home from school due to all the thumbs down
