Can you live on fruit and vegetables juice alone?!
My question is this, do you personally know anyone who is a juicearian? How long did they stay on a fresh juice only diet?
Just so there is no confusion, a juicearian consumes only fresh juice that they juice themselves or get from a juice bar. Juicearians do not consume pasteurized juices. I do not wish to hear from the usual hatemongers who loiter in the V&V section.
Answers: I have been on and off the juicearian diet, but more recently I have been on again. Before migrating to a juicearian diet, I was on a well balanced vegan diet consisting of both solid foods and juices.

Well according to Sandra Cabot in “The Juice Fasting Bible” people can happily survive for months on just pure fruit and vegetable juices.
Do you know about the upcoming Global Juice Feast:

Angela Stokes did a 92 Day Juice Feast and then wrote a book about it:

I can’t really answer you question. I longest I have ever juiced for is 3 days but I am trying to build up for a 7 day and 14 day juice.
However, given that you receive an abundance of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and enzymes in each juice, that go straight into your bloodstream and straight to work, I am sure you can live like this for many months.
If possible, try to consume certified organic produce, as they contain 40% more nutrients than non-organic produce.
Also rinse your mouth with water after every fruit juice, to protect teeth against the sugars.
I would stick to more vegetable juices or fruit & vegetable mixed, rather than just fruit juices.
What sort of juicer are you using? Some of the cheaper juicers are useless because many of the nutrients are destroyed during the juicing process.
I use an Oscar 900 VitalMax and the juice tastes amazing.
If you can afford it, buy a Green Power Greenstar 2000 Twin Gear Juicer, it is meant to be the best juicer you can buy on the planet. I am saving up for one, as everybody raves about it.
Most doctors would be very against this. Mine has “approved” a 1 day juice fast but no more. Of course, I am disregarding her advice because in my experience, doctors really don’t know much about nutrition and using food to heal. However, that’s just me; I know what’s best for me, my health and my situation. You need to make your own choices. There are lots of health retreats and spas around the world who use water and juice fasts to heal their patients, maybe you could get advice from them?
.
Hang on while I examine my poo with a slotted spoon.
There is no way that you can get all of your nutrients from just drinking juice. If you insist on keeping this up, at least take a daily multivitamin.
no
no
The well balanced diet is the way to go.
Wow, I'm so impressed by people like you. You're obviously a very dedicated person and have very strong beliefs - good for you!
As to the living on fruit and vegetable juice, I'd say probably not. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to get all the proteins, fats, sugars, carbs, etc. that you need for a balanced diet just from fruit and veg.
However, I'm not expert, talk to your GP about it and see what he/she says - they'll know much more about it than most people on here.
only you christy, only you.
no i don't know anyone else that would deprive their body of all of the other necessary nutrients to be healthy.
it is gross that you ask questions on here about your passing gas and feces.
i think you're the only "hatemonger" (whatever that actually means, you're the only one i've known to use it) who hangs out in the V&V section, asking questions so that you can tell the people who answers that they are "morons" or "idiots"
bad idea.
you should drink water
and eat other foods to give you carbs etc
When I was at my worst in the eating disorder, all I would eat was bananas and strawberries. I felt tired and sick all the time. I think a balanced diet is best and that way you're getting all the nutrience you need.
Your body needs protein and fat - how would you get this without eating oils, seeds, pulses or soy products?
You will be getting plenty of vitamins and some minerals, but not enough nutrients and calories to lead a healthy life.
It might be good for a detox, but not long term.
edit: I'm sorry, what did you say about hatemongering.
You have issues and a dangerously restricted diet, which will eventually affect your health. I can't imagine what has made you so angry, you asked for opinion and advice and people are giving it to you.
Yep we didn't have "oils and soy products" - we ate other foods that we found in nature like meat and fish. In the absence of eating meat, protein and essential amino acids and omega oils must be gained from other sources.
ps: try sushi - raw fish is found in nature and it's very good for you.
I would be concerned about balance, protein and fiber.
Most of the essential fibers are broken down or removed when things are juiced. Likewise there are not a great deal of juicy proteins out there.
In all honesty to continue with such a radical diet you will want close observation from a nutritionist and physicianl to ensure your body is obtaining the proper levels of nutrients.
No. You have to eat a balanced diet with fruit, vegetables and meat.
I wouldn't recommend that diet. It has no bulk or the right proteins in it.
EWW who the hell would want to live on that stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not on juice alone but you need the skins of the vegetables and fruits for fiber. Red meat is unhealthy as well as processed foods that contain nitrates. I think adding fish could be beneficial.
lol
You should be asking someone like a nutritionist.
I would never be able to limit my diet to just juice, I like textures too much. You should ask a nutritionist if you are doing something so extreme....and then stop trolling the V and V section.
You mention the words moron and ignorance on your insulting question. First I suggest you go and check your head and then see a nutrition. Or just wake up from your nightmare's, which ghosts is chasing your brains, apparently?
course you can try for 18 months then come back ot us. If you die which you probably will then put it down to giving yourself for the cause
wow i really didnt know that juicerian was a real diet? im vegan and its a big challenge for me to only eat certain things, exspecially since its a new thing for me. But i guess as long as your adding healthy things into your juice it would be ok it might be hard for a while though but good luck i love making juice and smoothies and stuff so i dont think it would be that hard.
I'm sorry I don't speak troll.
(And the truth is, you love to hear from us.)
You should take a nutrition class, you are not as educated as you think you are, with food, or anything really...
