Who else thinks vegetarians are crazy?!

Question: Meat is good for you!!!!!

Answers: Meat is good for you!!!!!

I guess it's peoples opinions but I personally think meat is there for us to eat. You need a good mixture of everything, not only greens. That's why all the vegetarians are so skinny...

I hate meat... vegetarians rock!! And hey, we saving the meat for those who have no heart.. enjoy it!

why?? that is such a mean thing to say. and it is discrimination

yes meat is good for you and you cant feed a carnivor veggies (look at futurama)

vegetables are good for you too.
if likeing cows better alive then dead is crazy, then i dnt minddd.

dnt hate. :]

Apparently the American Dietetic Association doesn't think it's so crazy to be vegetarian...

"It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases....Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer."

Me. Hey, I got no problem if that's what you want to do, just don't get in my face about it, and please don't clutter the board with the "Is this OK for me to eat?" c***.

no it's not, read some books. Seriously, a really good informative one is Skinny *****. It will prove to you that humans are not really supposed to eat hrdly any meat at all. Like for example, the cromagnum men ate meat because they needed it to develope, they ate it because they had the sharp teeth and acidic sliva and more stomach acid to handle the meat. Our kidneys aren't supposed to handle meat, which is why so many people get kidney stones.
So, we're not crazy, we just are more informed about what we should and should not put into our bodies.
Really though, even if you don't plan on becoming a vegetarian, go ahead and read Skinny ***** and then you'll understand more why we do it.

To judge a person based only upon what they eat - shows a lack within the one that is placing such judgement.

Why place such a question here - if not to incite others? Such is just plain childish and reflects more on the one posting than they evidently can understand.

"Put a rabbit and an apple in the crib with your baby. If the baby eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I'll give you a million dollars."

We're not carnivores, you're raised to think we are. To think someone is crazy because they practice compassion in their lives is crazy itself. rock on veggies!

I actually think meat-eaters who know how bad it can be for your health and know about all the suffering animals go through, but don't care are the insane ones! Also, why would you come into a vegetarian community to state something like this? It's absolutely rude and just makes you look like a jerk with no life.

No, actually it's not so good for you. It's full of cholesterol and saturated fats and digesting animal products causes your body to leach calcium from your bones. Vegetarians have fewer heart attacks and strokes, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, less risk of obesity and diabetes, less chance of breast, colon and prostate cancer, and live 6-10 years longer. If meat's so good for you, how come the cultures that eat the most have the highest rates of the so-called "diseases of affluence?"

Shut up, there's nothing wrong with vegetarians. Yes, meat is good for you but I don't want to eat dead animals, it's sick and wrong. How would you like it if you were born and raised just so people could eat you? I'm completely disgusted by the idea.

I respectfully disagree... We are not crazy. We are insane. (:

No, really... I never understood vegetarians either until I saw the videos on factory farming of animals and realized that by continuing to eat meat, I was supporting this abhorrent practice. Think about how much fast food meat is out there and where it comes from... millions and millions of animals are butchered so we can make our fat asses fatter. Do we really NEED meat, anyway? The answer is NO we do not. We can live without killing animals, so why don't we? Because we LIKE meat and we have been conditioned to LIKE it and think we NEED it.

My theory: our obesity epidemic is due primarily to OVERconsumption of protein, and we have been brainwashed by the meat and dairy industry to think we need this stuff. Try veggies for a change. (: You'll feel better.

I'm much more curious about what trolls eat...oh, yeah.

Don't feed the troll people. :)

Please ignore the trolls

Meat causes cancer and other degenerative diseases.

The environment is in ruins because of the "need" for meat.

I would rather be known as crazy, than be classed as an uneducated, backward, narrow-minded troll moron, such as your good self.

.

I guess you are what you eat, ever try to hold a conversation with a carrot, what do they call you when you no longer have neurological impulses to the brain? oh yeah!! a vegetable!! rock on meat eaters!!!

then EAT it.
who's stopping you?
and more importantly..

why the f*** do you care what other people eat?

ill bet it is..
Health
Meat/Dairy centered diets are linked to many types of cancer, as well as heart ailments, diabetes, obesity, gallbladder disease, hypertension, and more deadly diseases and disorders.
The National Cancer Research Institute found that women who eat meat on a daily basis are almost 4 times more likely to get breast cancer than those women who eat little or no meat.
Meat contains approximately 14 times more pesticides than plant foods; dairy products contain 5-1/2 times more pesticides than plant foods.
15 million pounds of antibiotics are used in animal production every year- These drugs end up in your milk and meat.
95-99 percent of toxic chemical residues in the American diet come from animal sources.
By reducing your consumption of meat,, dairy products and eggs by 50%, you reduce your risk of a heart attack by 45%. By following a pure vegetarian diet (no animal products at all) you reduce your risk by 90%.
Meat and dairy products raise the acid level in human blood, causing calcium to be excreted from the bones to restore the body's natural pH balance. This calcium depletion results in osteoporosis. Contrary to the common belief that dairy products are necessary to prevent osteoporosis, dairy consumption actually increases the likeliness of this crippling disease.
About 30% of all pork products are contaminated with toxoplasmosis, a disease which is caused by parasites. It can be passed on to consumers.
The vegetarian diet is more likely to meet the government recommendations for fat, carbohydrate, and protein than a nonvegetarian diet. The government as well as many other organizations tell us to reduce our fat intake (especially saturated fat) and also to eat more grains, fruits, and vegetables. This is easy for a vegetarian!
On a meatless diet, you are less likely to get a bacterial infection such as E. coli, Camphylobacter, and Salmonella.

I may be crazy but I'm not an ignorant jerk

your right man vegetarians are pretty crazy but i'm still down with my non meat eatin people. but overall those people are pretty crazy.

Honestly, I don't hate them, but I don't think there's reason for them. They don't eat meat because it's living. But plants are living also! So whatever they eat (that's edible) it will be living!

I don't care what happens to the animals as long as they weren't suffering. I don't care who's body they go into. Meat is healthy. It's just that I really hate it...like the taste and stuff. Bleh. When I eat it I can't believe that it was once alive.

It's not crazy to be a vegetarian, but most vegetarians seem to have mental problems that are the source of their food issues.
