Animal rights, with the use of imitation products?!
Answers: I have friends that are vegaterian and vegan because of their beleif, that eating meat is cruel to animals. I will never push my beleifs on someone else, but doesn't the purchase of even "fake" furs, pearls, and leather, put a higher demand on the real products? It is, after all free advertisement, and promotes a demand for animal products. Please help me understand why buying fake products- is ok
Because fake products aren't real.
i dont believe that buying fake products puts a higher demand on real products...in fact, the opposite
buying fake products (obviously fake) encourages others to do the same---cuz they look real but come without the cruelty to animals
if everyone bought fake there would be no need for real. the same goes for gucci or diamonds or any other consumerism product that people feel they need to be happy or cool or whatever. supply and demand
fake animal products do not hurt animals whereas real animal products do. (unless your theory is right about faux promoting real.. but i do not agree) therefore, they are not hypocrites.
Why would a true vegetarian want to wear a fake fur anyway? Isn't the idea of wearing a fake just so you look like you are wearing the real thing? It is not okay and obviously is meat-eaters alone creating the market and demand for these products .....meat-eaters that wear fur have money .........meat-eaters that wear fake fur are poor. Either way, the market demand for either is all meat-eaters causing your problem not true vegetarians.
We're not cool enough to make it fashionable ; )
I agree. So many people state that they love animals yet they couldn't even do a day without perfume.
Nothing is more worse than a hypocrite.
