Your opinion: Do you despise meat eaters?!

Question: Question for vegetarians:

I've tried eating vegetarian on my diet, and so far I've gotten all red meats and seafoods out of the picture. Chicken is my issue, though. I have chicken for dinner sometimes, and it seems to be the only meal I enjoy.

A vegetarian friend of mine said it was respectable enough to have eliminated most meats from my diet. However, I want to know your honest opinion if you have a negative opinion of people who eat meat.

It's respectable to cut out as much as you can. I can't say that I hate meat eaters, I would like there to be more veggies around though.

What I despise is that our culture has become a mass of unaware fumbling drones, we don't want to know, we don't care, ignorance is bliss right? I am ashamed to be part of it all.

I don't know the reason that you are trying out for a veggie life, but what you could do is be a smart omnivore. If you are only eating chicken, make sure that you know where it is coming from, what kind of farmer you are supporting. Make sure that the chicken isn't genetically modified and that this chicken is eating a healthy diet. We need more smart omnivores, if we had more, then the little farmers wouldn't go out of business, people would support them them and not go straight for the hormone diseased cheap meat.

:) just keep doing what you are doing and be aware...

Good luck!

ILOVEMEATEATERS

People are vegetarians for all different reasons. Some do it because they don't want to support slaughtering animals (and the sometimes cruel tactics used to do so). Some do it because it is a way to live a healthy lifestyle. And some people just hate the taste of meat or think it's gross to eat another animal.

Personally, I have no problem with people who eat meat. I have been a vegetarian for 4 solid years and it's tactless to expect it from everyone around me. I think you'll be fine unless you're only friends with PETA freaks.

Their is nothing wrong with eating meat in moderation.

i dont care i was a meat eater b4 so they dont bother
me

Honestly, no I do not.
It's the person's choice if they chose to eat meat.
I don't mind, and it doesn't bother me.

I just don't like it when they poke fun at me.
Or try to force me to eat meat.

I don't do that to them, and I don't understand why they must do that to me.

I'm vegan and no I don't despise meat-eaters. Most of the people I love and respect are meat-eaters.

Not at all it's everyone's choice. It needs to be done in a responsible manner.

If I hated all meat eaters, then I would not have any friends. Sometimes, I get grossed out when I am surrounded by people eating a bunch of meat, because the thought grosses me out. But I never say anything.

No.

I'm vegan--that's my choice. It's their choice to be an omnivore.

The people I DO despise are the ones who torture the animals. It also irks me to no end when people are absolutely fine--they feel no remorse, even after they've been told what happens to the animals.

I hate arrogance. I despise ignorance. I hate heartlessness. But eating meat, in and of itself, is not bad. My grandparents own some cows, and they treat them very, very well. They go out and give them their food, and personally feed them toast every morning. And, whether or not that's good for the cows, it's still nice. And every once in a while the cows get eaten. I could never eat those cows, because I knew them. But I am not _as_ against other people eating them as I am other cows--these had very good lives.

I still don't think that people should be allowed to slaughter other animals solely for their own pleasure, though. Survival is possible without meat. I'm living proof.

Anyways, sorry for rambling.

As a vegetarian, I can honestly say I do no despise meat eaters. I am annoyed when they try to give me silly arguments for why meat is necessary. I wish more people would try it out just to understand that it isn't starving yourself and it's pretty healthy.

I think it is respectable to eliminate most meats and working towards a vegetarian diet. I understand the chicken thing. I think that was my favorite meat before I became a vegetarian, but it just takes some getting used to.

I don't criticize anyone, although I don't think meat-eating is the right way, I don't make laws and you certainly can't force anyone. I would rather have people make their own rational decisions. My motto: Live and Let Live.

Do you despise meat eaters?

No…………….

but questions like these are seriously starting to get on my nerves.

.

Only the ones who ask me where I get my protein and tell me I'm a hypocrite cuz plants have feelings.

Kidding! I don't hate omnivores. Heck, I married one!

I don't despise meat eaters because I believe everyone should have respect. I'm on a "if you don't preach I won't" kind of terms with everyone I know.

I don't.
Because most of us are raise to eat what our parents and family give us. Even away from home as a kid, we eat the school lunch.
We eat certain food because of habits, customs, & culture. Such as we hang out with friends at the fast food resturant as teens. We always have turkey during Thanksgiving, etc.
Becoming a vegetarian is my personal choice because I love animals.
I respects my family & meat eating friends and hope one day that they'll find vegetaism healthier & better for the animals.

WHY would another judge another based only upon what they eat??

Such is just something that I personally find foolish and not something that a thinking individual would do.

What and how I eat - my choice. What another eats - their choice. Neither of us have to agree with each others choice - but should respect the individual.

it does not bother me as long as you dont consider yourself a vegetarian. it makes me mad when people say that they are vegetarians but they eat meat once in a while.

My friends are sensitive to my needs (I'm ovo lacto vegetarian) and I do not hold it against them that they eat meat. In fact, I've discovered that a few of my friends are leaning toward or have crossed over into vegetarianism. It can be a very healthy dietary consideration.

I hate some meat eaters and vegetarians equally but because of something else not because of their diet/lifestyle choices. Unless you are starving or on some barren desert island with no vegetarion or animals around, what's for breakfast/lunch/dinner seems too petty an issue to bicker about among civilized people. There are far more important topics to deal with other than simple food choices.

Why do you care if some people "despise" others out of arrogance? THEY are the pompous @ssholes. I despise arrogant vegetarians who sit on their high horses and spew venom at others for consuming a NATURAL part of their diet!
