New Vegetarian - Am I getting enough of everything?!
Breakfast - Coffee w/ Silk, banana, apple w/ peanut butter
Lunch - MorningStar 'beef' patty on multi-grain bread w/ lettuce and tomatoes and a few fritos.
Snack - A handful of mixed roasted nuts and about 5 baby carrots.
Dinner - Baked potato w/ organic butter, asparagus, and 2 southwestern veggie patties.
Is this pretty balanced? Thanks for your input!
Answers: Just been doing this a week and wanted to know if my diet seems ok. Here is yesterday - pretty typical of what I'm eating so far:
Breakfast - Coffee w/ Silk, banana, apple w/ peanut butter
Lunch - MorningStar 'beef' patty on multi-grain bread w/ lettuce and tomatoes and a few fritos.
Snack - A handful of mixed roasted nuts and about 5 baby carrots.
Dinner - Baked potato w/ organic butter, asparagus, and 2 southwestern veggie patties.

Your diet sounds pretty balanced, but I still recommend adding a multi-vitamin to your diet. There are vegetarian multi-vitamins out there, they're a bit pricey, but I think they're worth it.
I would add more fruits and veggies to your diet - besides being delicious they're a good source of vitamins and minerals your body needs on a daily basis. And remember after a week your menu might get a bit stale, which means you need to try new things! Like Indian, Thai, etc - cultures that have a large population of vegetarians in the midst - there is a lot to learn from their cuisine and it's keeps being a vegetarian not so constraint.
Good Luck!
You are doing great!!
I'm studying Public Health Nutrition at University, and your diet seems very nutritious indeed- its supplying you with lots of vitamins and minerals.
You will definately be getting enough Vitamin C!!
Keep up the good work. I bet your skin is glowing with health!!
With love,
Scottie (vegetarian)
(please avoid junk food. Remember, Chips are vegetarian but will Not constitute a healthy diet)
yes, less of the fritos and more of the fruit!
Also you need to use a varity of veggie foods, just so you don't get bored.
