Is kiwi fruit a fruit grown in India?!

The Actinidia is native to Shaanxi, China. The kiwifruit originated in China and was known as the Chinese gooseberry until New Zealand fruit growers renamed it for their national bird and began exporting it. Today, kiwifruit is also a commercial crop in California.

In other words the kiwi fruit was originally grown in China until new zealand fruit growers renamed it for there nation bird who is now named kiwi after the fruit.
