Hi.
I am 13 and I am a vegetarian, I've been one for about 1 or 1 1/2 years now. My mom is also a vegetarian and I also decided to become one because of her...but I mostly chose. If you want meat alternatives here are some companies that make them, you can find them in the freezer section:
~ Boca [ look for the word "meatless" under the word Boca. They make meatless chicken patties, fake flame grilled burgers, meatless taco fillings, etc.]
~ Morningstar Farms [same as Boca...but this is a company that always makes vegetarian things]
~ Tofurkey ["lunch meat" substitute]
~ Tofu [refrigerator section of grocery stores]
~ Quorn
Those are some good companies, that help maintain a healthy vegetarian diet, remember to eat pastas, veggies, and fruits! Some go websites that help you give up meat are:
goveg.org
veganoutreach.org [the website also has vegetarian info]
peta.org
vegsource.com
I think those websites will help you out..they give you a lot of information.
I hope this helps!!! =D
thanx for going vegetarian!
What you are "allowed" to eat is totally determined by you. But most pescitarians avoid poultry (such as turkey or chicken), and red meat (stuff from cows and pigs).
OMG I'm a pescetarian that's 13 so I know EXACTLY how you feel! Well, I eat lots of fish because it's high in protein. Eggs, vegetables, legumes, beans, nuts, dairy, those are all high in protein. You're gonna probably want to watch your calcium intake, too, and also your iron. Iron is mostly found in red meat sources, but you can also find it in leafy veggies and broccoli! Just remember to keep things balanced and healthy, and enjoy being a pescie!!! We're in the same boat!
If you don't mind
this is a forum for vegetarians and vegans.
We do not care about how you go about eating dead corpses. please redirect your future questions towards a different section (health, food & drink, etc.)
If you have any questions related towards diet and nutrition of vegans or vegetarians, I'll be more than willing to help as that is my degree of study (dietetics).
It appears that you are quite concerened and/or passionate about your diet and nutritional needs, which is a really great thing. If you want substantial information I'd recommend speaking with a Registered Dietician as they are a reliable and credible source, as opposed to asking random people on the internet.
protein food for lunch? lunches are supposed to be high in slowworking-carbohydrates. such as bread. as for your protein sources, fish at dinner would be protein enough for a diet. eat a small fish per day. about 200grams.
for teens especially, vitamin b is very important, since you need it for growing. to make sure there is enough vitamin b in your diet, i would recommend suplements. there might be enogh in the fush, but a little extra never hurt anyone.
Lord, child as atrocious as your spelling is , you need to stay on the meat protein at least until you learn to use spell check.
You can eat what you want or what you think you should eat . It's really nobody else's business but your own.
I'm curious though as to how you can decide to call or label yourself something, in this case "pescetarian" and ask what you can eat. The label is that important that it defines how you live and not the other way around? Shouldn't it be you are "labeled" because of how you live not live by how you are labeled?
