Need suggestions – for charity?!

Question: I believe in giving back. I am planning on taking off a month from work to do volunteer work. I can go anywhere in the world, - (I have save the air miles). My passion is to help in long-term projects to help animals. I can do some handy work and am I not worried about hard labor. Do you have any suggestions?
Also I know this is the V&V section, but I have got to know many trusted people on this section, hence I value their opinion.
