Raw food diet?!


Question: I am already a vegan purley for moral reasons. I am now thinking of turning to a all raw food diet as well, for health reasons. DOes anyone only eat raw foods? how is it for you? can you maybe make a list of foods for one or 2 days for me to test the waters? ex: breakfest:...

#1 ~Raw Almond Milk Recipe~
INGREDIENTS:

* 1 cup raw almonds
* 1 cup water + 3 cups water
* 2 dates (optional)
* 1/2 tsp vanilla (optional)

PREPARATION:
Soak the almonds in the 1 cup of water overnight or for at least 6 hours.

Drain the water from the almonds and discard. Blend the 3 cups of water, almonds and dates until well blended and almost smooth.

Strain the mixture using a cheesecloth or other strainer. Raw almond milk will keep well in the refrigerator for three or four days.


#2 ~Raw Vegan Pesto Recipe~
INGREDIENTS:

* 1 1/2 cups fresh basil
* 1/3 cup olive oil
* 1 cup pine nuts (other nuts, such as almonds or walnuts may be substituted)
* 5 cloves garlic
* 1/3 cup nutritional yeast
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor until nuts are ground. Pesto should still have texture and not be completely smooth. Add more salt and pepper to taste and enjoy! One variation is to add 1/2 cup dehydrated sun-dried tomatoes. For a lower fat version replace half the oil with soy milk.


#3 ~Raw Corn Chowder Recipe~
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 ears fresh corn
* 2 cups almond milk
* dash cayenne pepper

PREPARATION:
In a blender, blend together corn from one ear and the almond milk. Add the remaining corn and a dash of cayenne. Refrigerate if desired to allow flavors to mingle.


#4 ~Raw Chimichurri Sauce Recipe~
INGREDIENTS:

* 120 ml extra virgin olive oil
* 120ml - Red Wine Vinegar or 90ml - Lemon Juice
* 90ml - Water
* 1-2 cloves garlic
* 1 tsp salt
* 120 ml extra virgin olive oil
* 120ml - Red Wine Vinegar or 90ml - Lemon Juice
* Use 2 or more of the following herbs, your choice:
* 3 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
* 3 tbsp fresh chopped oregano
* 1 tbsp fresh chopped thyme
* 1 tsp fresh chopped basil
* 1/2 tsp chili pepper flakes (optional)
* 1/2 tsp ground cumin (optional)
* 1/2 tsp ground paprika (optional)
* Include at least one of the following:
* 2 shallots
* 1 tomato
* 1 capsicum pepper
* 1 green onion

PREPARATION:
Place all of the ingredients in a blender, except the olive oil and half of the water, and blend lightly. Add the olive oil and enough of the water to blend it to a smooth paste.

Cover and leave to stand for at least 2 hours at room temperature before serving.
