What is whey from milk?!
Answers: I am allergic to milk but on the ingredients in the foods it say whey from milk but is it milk or just a milk protein... I am also a vegan so I dont Drink or eat milk so does that mean it is still milk?

Yes, whey is a milk protein. It is extracted from milk. If you are allergic to milk, it may be the lactose you are having problems with, not the whey. That is a different part of the milk. As far as being vegan goes, yes, whey is from milk, no, it is not vegan.

if you're vegan then you wouldn't eat anything with whey or whey protein in anyway, it's kind of like the same substance as rennet, and still derived from cattle. it's used as a thickener in a lot of food and comes from the cheese making process, it just gets seperated from the cheese we buy.
