Question: Do you care about how animals are treated before you eat the MEAT?
If so, why?

Answers: Do you care about how animals are treated before you eat the MEAT?
If so, why?

Yes, I do. I don't like the "factory" slaughterhouses. I do eat free range and sushi, I also hunt and fish. Meat is an occasional part of my diet, but it must be free until I kill it, and genetically modified meats and growth hormones are not part of my diet (same with fruits and veggies; organic). The way I see it, if you can't kill an animal yourself, you don't have much business eating it.

Hey, thanks for best answer. I answered with honesty, thus mentioning my diet. Regardless of whether we eat meat or not, I do think all of us need to be aware of where any of our food comes from, and all the factors considered to get it there. Report It

  • well it depends on what you like.
Here in America they're treated how you see in farms

In Japan called Kobe Beef (the most expensive & best tasting beef in the world). They let their cows run around, give them warm beer with their feed, massage them, brush them, kind of like treating them like they're royalty. In the end, their meat is marbled of muscle & fat.

    No.

I definitely think about how animals are treated, that's exactly why I don't eat them. coz I'm concerned about the animals, the environment and health.

Yes I do care a lot!

And thats the reason why I decided to go vegetarian a year ago! And its the best decision that I have ever made! :)

I don't eat meat, yes I care about how the animals are treated and that is why I don't eat them. I care because animals feel physical and emotional pain just like a human, and I have seen what is happening to them and I don't believe it is right.

I don't like the way they are pumped with vitamins then not allowed to run around freely (as they should) just to make them bigger.

    Most people don't.

People CLAIM they do care. But the statistics don't line up with the proportion that claim they care.

If people cared about the animals, meat would be ten times the price it is. Organic free range meat would fill the shelves. Local farm shops would be overflowing with customers, supermaket butchers would be empty.

buit its not, the best sellers are the cheapests cuts. People care more about the price. The reduced price of meat is the single largest contributor to poor animal husbandry

EG, we have a lame sheep at the moment ( about to go and give her a penacillin shot this AM ). Yesterday the farm hand said "its not worth vetting her"....see ? thats what the low price of meat does to animals. Just because she has a little foot rot the farmhand doesn't think its viable to call a vet out ( cost= £10, $20 USD ), a commercial farming decision is to let her die a slow starvation death in the field over a couple of weeks then bury her.

Fortunately for the Ewe, she's on our farm and not part of some commercial livestock. Millions of others are not so lucky, shame eh ?

You're question doesn't merit a response...2 reasons, 1. you are typing this in the veggie section so you are a jerk...or 2. you can't read, which is why this question is in the veggie section, so it doesn't matter what I say, you will misinterpreted it anyway. :)

I DON'T eat meat because I care about how animals are treated.

I don't eat meat, but of course I care. I care because any being that is capable of suffering should not have to suffer a great deal and especially caused by another that is knowing of their actions as part of their death (and any other time) and then to be eaten by another being.

yes, that's the very biggest reason i don't eat it.

why? because they have nervous systems just like we do. they experience pain the same as we do. it hurts when i burn my tongue, i'm sure a chicken getting it's tongue sliced off by the person cutting their beak off hurts. they are in conditions that if it was a person would be torture and illegal. why would i want to contribute to that suffering? when i don't need to have meat?

Yes, I do and so does my s/o. We buy only from select sources . . . our vegetables too for that matter. We like to go directly to the source when we can and make a day of it. However, our consumption of "red meat" is extremely low, poultry, fish and seafood are our preference.

No I do not. If I second guessed every thing I would never be able to use any manufactured Item. And the damage to environment and people that manufacturing causes. I feel that many vegans are hypocritical in their thought processes.
