Should Meat eaters have their own forum?!
Answers: This is a serious question, do you all think meat eaters should sort of have a sub-forum so we can discuss our own things, having no forum only allows meat eaters to really have a go a vegetarians and get things stirred up and then we could all get along, serious answers only i dont want people coming in saying im a bad person, i just want some serious answers, thank you.
I didn't read all of your question (it's long), but yes, I think there should be a meat eater forum. Of course, anybody can go to any forum, and have their own opinions, but it would be good because it MIGHT lessen the "slamming" that some people go to the trouble of on the vegetarian sites. Of course, if there was a meat eating category, I would hope the vegetarians could be respectful to the meat eaters... again, we all have opinions, but there is no reason to "stir things up" for the fun of it. Maybe there should be a debate forum for people who LIKE to "get into it"... ha ha. :-)
I think you mean that vegetarians should have their own forum since most people eat meat.
The rest of the Food and Drink section is a place where you can talk all about meat, preparing meat, cooking with meat, selecting and purchasing meat, etc. Considering that 95% or better of Western society is NOT vegetarian, odds are that outside of this area of Answers you will be hard pressed to run into someone that is vegetarian. This is the only section on the site where Vegetarian and Vegan issues can be covered. You have the rest of the site to your leisure, really. There's even a Hunting section if you acquire your own meat.
If you somehow need support because you are a meat eater and feel slighted, intimidated or offended by vegetarians/vegans, there's Mental Health help on here too and other areas where you can rant and complain. This is primarily the only area of this site where vegetarians discuss issues pertaining to them.
P.S. There is also nothing forcing you to stay on Yahoo! Answers. There are sites DEDICATED to meat. They have forums there where you can have a meatfest at your leisure. It's your choice to be in the V&V forum and complain.

All about pork, plenty to talk about pork.

The National Cattlemen's Beef site. You'll find plenty of comrades here.

All about chicken.
Need I go on?
No. Every other food forum IS a meat eater's forum.
You already do have a forum, it's called cooking and recipes.
They do. They have several of them. The Cooking & Recipes section is one. The hunting section is another. All meat eaters are hunters by default, whether or not they personally kill the animal, so it should be perfect.
"meat only cooking and recipes and vegetarians do have a forum, to my first answer, just saying it would be easier for every1 and there would be less hassle for those who generally need to know somthing." What a crock. Why do they need a special forum? Can they not get answers in the cooking & recipes section? Less "hassle"? Easier? Why and how? Cooking & Recipes is for general cooking information. Since most of the English speaking world eats animals, that's what that section is for.
Are you feeling so left out that you need a special title? Or a special short bus section?
Since I ALSO eat vegetables, I feel free to post on any forum under Food & Drink
what?? no...
my best friend is a vegetarian, and we get along just fine. it's all a matter of not pushing your own lifestyle onto somebody else and respecting other people. if more ppl in the worl thought this way, i think it would be a much more harmonious place.
No. I suspect that a lot of people would go there to discuss things related to eating meat, only to be assaulted by vegetarian Trolls condemning us to Hell because of of what we eat.
LOL.. ohh Adam... ohhhh Adam.... you made me smile today.. thank you.. You can have any forum you want to.. i would think all you would have to do is to ask yahoo answers.. HOWEVER posting in the V/V section.. not too bright are we???
EDIT: fine adam i will.. then you should keep your meat-eating questions out of the V/V section...
Yes and NO (as Food & Drink covers them)
The reason i say yes is I'm tired of meat eaters coming here and requesting diet and nutrition advice. As I am a dietetics student, I absolutely love offering my assistance but as i a vegan I am biased and refuse to offer my assistance towards meat eaters (vegetarianism is my particular area of interest anyways). Whenever an omnivore (meat eater) requests diet advice, I kindly remind them that this is a forum specifically for vegans and vegetarians and that we collectively don't care about how people go around eating dead corpses or innocent animals brutally murdered for food, then i recommend that they take their question towards another forum.
Then what happens I usually receive a violation notice for such an answer. Which i believe to be inappropriate. You don't ask spiritual questions in the "politics" section and you don't request nutritional advice on meat eating diets in the vegetarian section, it just makes commonsense. In my opinion not following these guidelines illicts a response of the nature in the above example. Yet I consistently recieve violation notices do to meat eaters being feed up they can't receive diet and or health advice in the vegan vegetarian section, while there is already a health or food and drink section they could post in.
Sorry for the near rant portion of this.
Actually, I meat cookery is currently discussed on three forums, "Cooking and Recipes", "Ethnic Cuisine" and "General - Food & Drink".
My opinion is that there is no need for a Meat Eaters forum.
Even if there was a meat eaters forum, I'm sure you and people like you will still stir things up in the vegetarian forum so don't pretend that you're stuck posting in a vegetarian forum.
you do have one...........food and drink general
Meat eaters already have a lot more options than vegetarians. Next time you are in the frozen foods section, try finding more than one or two frozen meals that DON'T contain meat. Same for the prepared foods in the deli. Choices are already very limited for those who choose not to eat meat-I think the least we can ask for is an area where we can discuss recipes without the constant trolling from those who criticize our choice. Most of the other sections in "Food and Drink" discuss recipes based on meat or animal products. I don't think its too much to ask to have a place to share ideas with others who are vegetarian. There are plenty of reasons beyond animal cruelty to not eat meat-and I tire of the constant criticism from people who are closed minded. In my case, I am unable to digest animal protein-period. My kidneys shut down if I eat any meat/poultry at all. I don't think thats a reason to be called a stinky, hippie freak at every turn, nor do I think that those who believe in animal rights should be constantly baraged for their choices. To answer your question, NO, I don't think omnivores need their own forum. Meat recipes and tips are openly discussed in the many other catagories. How nice it would be if the trolls would realize that.
yea i think..i think meat eaters have categries with meat eating cuz there are ones who eat just polutry and some just eat red meat and some just eat meat and veggies. i think it is so unfair even though there are a larger number of meat eaters. we still deserve a category.
This is all about choices, & not whether one choice is "righter" than another. If you disagree with someone, no one is forcing you to answer their question. I admit, I grumble when I read some questions, but I get over it. People have every right to believe whatever they want, & shouldn't be attacked for their views. I will say that I support separate websites for V/V & Meat, but I will still feel free to visit either forum, regardless of my choices, as long as I don't push my values on anyone or insult them for their beliefs. Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?"
Well, okay, if you want a serious answer...
There is no "meat eaters" forum because most people consider that to be the norm. Vegetarianism, while a valid diet and lifestyle, is still considered an alternative diet and lifestyle. There are plenty of chances for meat eaters to discuss meat in the other food categories.
And I think that that's a poor excuse for people to think they have to "get things stirred up" in the vegetarian forum. If you just want to start a fight, maybe you should consider another website besides Yahoo! Answers.
Yes,....that's right, and because there is a gay lesbian forum, we should also have a heterosexual forum.
But they don't have one, so I am going to go into the gay lesbian forum and make rude comments, because that is just how small I am.
Adam, we are so much alike! Let's be contacts!
Absolutely! It would help keep people with no interest in vegetarianism out of this one and would be a better place for some questions.
Come on over to the hunting forum. We will teach you how to catch, gut, skin, cut-up, cure, cook, store, present, and eat any type of meat that you want (and even some that you may not).
However, the V&V forum has a very different objective, as well as a very different mentality than the above forum.
If you want to raise your palet and your health to a whole new level, then by all means pay attention in this forum and you WILL learn some pretty amazing things!
About half are actual educated vegetarians/vegans, while the other half are more akin to retardation. If you are looking to merely "get along" then this may not be the forum for you. If you are looking to be productive and learn while opening the mind just a smidgeon, yer in the right hooch.
Best of luck either way!
No. Meat eaters have "General Food & Drink" already.
**
this question had been asked so many times already..
and no because there's the "general food and drink" section.
