I've been a Vegetarian for a few monthes now for Animal Rights issues, please read added details.?!
Answers: Some of my friends make fun of it saying I'm not a man because I don't eat meat, or they try to keep forcing meat on me, what do I do about it, Ive got a few good friends that understand but what about the others?
I've been a vegetarian for 15 years and have found that simply eat what you want but don't make a big deal out of being a vegetarian. A lot of people think it makes someone stuck up to be a "picky" eater and they probably give you a hard time because of that. Namely, when people start prodding me about being a vegetarian and why I have found its easier to just say, I don't want to talk about and move on with the conversation. Don't sit there and hash out to everyone about the injustice of how animals are murdered all the time. You made a choice for you and let people choose what they eat for themselves. If you get angry at them whenever they prod you they will keep it up but if you just calmly ignore it, it will get old and the topic will move on.
you not only need to avoid meat, you need to avoid these'friends' of yours. you dont need these cavemen, narrow-minded people around you, who dont respect a person's decision.
Oh sorry, i was eating a steak
what was the question?
thats not mature of them (obviously) it is a personal decision. would you start telling your friends they arent manly cus they haven't had sex and want to practice abstinence (even though some bloats do) it is a personal decision
i am vegetarian bc of religion and i get made fun of all the time but there is no point in listening to them because if you made a commitment to something nothing should sway you or bother u until that commitment is complete
Don't make a big deal out of it, just ask them to respect your wishes.
Honestly, meat is very healthy and provides a significant source of protein. Do the best you can to make up for it. Also, if you have animal rights issues have you thought about finding farmers that treat animals well and then use humane ways of slaughtering them?
Hey Pal, I am right there with you!! Im Vegan and I love it!! Be proud of your decision of keeping the hormone infested slash pestiside **** out of your bangin body!! (sorry so much slang and attitude!) Your a real man and stick to your beliefs! Women love a man who can stand up for what they believe and ignore their friends about it. Your friends are going to get used to it, if their cool enough they might take interest in it. If they dont then screw them and go out find some new pals, soon they'll realize, Hey wheres _______ , dam i miss that f***er. Ask them this "WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT I EAT ANYWAYS?" fags!
I HAVE A FRIEND THAT HAS NOT EAT MEAT SIENCE 1981,AS FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS,THATS COOL SOME ANIMALS ARE DONE WRONG,AS FOR THE OTHERS THEY ARE USUALLY NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP MAKE IT A BETTER WORLD FOR FUTURE GENRATIONS.AS FOR DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT
STAY NUTURAL AND GO ON WITH YOUR LIFE,DONT WORRY ABOUT THEM.GOD BLESS HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.
Why do you need to discuss it with your friends? Tell them to mind their own business and then change the topic. Don't be rude, but be firm. You don't try to impose your diet on them, so they shouldn't try to impose theirs on you.
A good friend is someone who supports you in what you do, cares about your well being, may even express concern now & again for your health.....do your research...know about the lifestyle you have chosen....you can provide intelligent fact based responses to their objections....maybe even win them over to your cause.....bottom line is: a good friend supports you, doesn't degrade or ridicule you....ever thought about throwing a vegetarian/vegan dinner for your friends? They might discover they like it...good luck!
just curious why all veges and vegans complain when their friends make fun of them but see it perfectly alright to constantly tell us meat eaters that we are murderes and cannot eat meat in their presence, its most like they like forcing their beliefs on us but get all offended when others do it to them, just thought i would bring that up, as for your freinds tell them it your personal choice, i can garuntee if you dont bring u being a vegetarian as much they wil forget it, just as im sure you have slated them for eating meat..you cant have both ways, hate on them and expect to not get hated back, most guys wll slag you but mot of the time its jokingly just as men hit each other all the time but it doesnt mean they are fighting...carmen just basically strengthens my case, tell them about it, they might get interested, if they dont then screw them, they are fags...thats just the sort of attitude im talking about.
I'm a vegetarian too. If i were you, (and in some cases i have)
tell the people that your a vegetarian and to deal. If they try to make you eat meat. start giving the cold shoulder, a real friend would realize that you are serious and would stop at that point. and go hang out with you friends that understand more often too.
Congrats on becoming a vegetarian by the way! =)
hope this helps!
If you are always talking about it all the time it doesn't sound like you are committed.
