As a vegetarian, what vitamins and minerals should I worry about getting?!
I'm concerned about getting all of my nutrients. :[
Which should I worry about the most?
Whats a good way for me to get them?
Thank you for any help!
Oh yeah, please don't spam me for becoming a vegetarian! It's my choice :]

First and foremost, you do not need to take a supplement if you are eating right. You can get all of your nutrients from food. DO NOT TAKE SUPPLEMENTAL IRON!! I can't stress this enough because many people get adequate iron counts from their foods and it's very easy to OD on iron. Only take it if you are feeling ill and tired for a long period of time and check with a doctor and get some bloodwork done.
Protein is a non-issue. You'll be fine if you are eating beans, whole-grains, and drinking soymilk or consuming peanut butter or nuts.
B vitamins are easily obtained from soymilk, fortified cereals, fortified breads, seaweed products, and nutritional yeast.
Calcium can be found in dark-leafy greens, tofu, soymilk, etc.
You will be okay. Don't stress about it.
Good luck on your new life!
I've also got a friend who is a vegetarian, She usually takes iron pills and other pills that contain many vitamins but being a vegetarian also eat alot of nuts, spinach, mushroom. These are good sources of iron instead of meat.
yes some vitamin like b6 maybe but you need vitamins supplement to make you feel alive

I am a vegetarian and I would say iron and protein. For protein i eat cheese, beans and soy meat products. For iron i take multi vitamins daily from trader joes. It has every vitamin you need for the day.
A vegetarian diet can be healthy, just ensure u get enough proteins(eggs, dairy products)
Green leafy veggies are considered esp.healthy.
Hey, I think it's totally cool that you've decided to go veg:) I've been a vegan for 6 yrs now and am as healthy as can be. As far as vitamins go, definitely a multi, you may want to supplement calcium, however dark leafy greens contain this vitamin and also a lot of the soy milks and soy "meats" contain (added) calcium but it may not be enough depending on your diet. B12 for sure... and you can get your protein intake (more than enough actually) from a well rounded diet containing a variety of beans, nuts, seeds, soy and tofu (or tofu/soy based products). You will also want to take an iron supplement. Hmmm, hope I didn't leave anything out, it's late lol. Ok... now that I've finished writing this response, I realize that you are vegetarian and not vegan and so calcium and B12 may not necessarily need to be supplemented (due to dairy and egg intake) but a little extra info never hurt anyone :) The key is to ensure you eat a well-rounded balanced healthy diet containing a lot of fresh, wholegrain foods (veggies, fruits, grains, nuts). Hope this helped.
Nothing, if you know what you're doing and eat a varied diet.
You shouldn't worry! Just eat right and get all your nutrients. Here is a site to help you with that:

None. If you do it right, then you should be able to get all the vitamins and nutrients that you body requires. A balanced and well thought out diet, whether vegetarian or otherwise does not require supplements and therefore you should not worry about not getting what you need.
It depends what kind of vegetarian you will be. If you are a wannabe vegetarian/vegan like most of the people on this forum you will need many supplements and live a life of constant worry.
However, if you are going to be the kind of vegetarian that aspires to be a true vegan, like myself and others, then you will not need any supplements. Find yourself a good vegan master or mistress and put yourself under their guidance and they will teach you the wisdom of true vegan ways and the spritual path.
