As a vegan or animal rights advocate, do you approve of this approach?!

Of course not, that is a disgusting crime.

Arson is a hideous crime, what if the wind caught the blaze and not only burned those homes (a crime in and of itself, obviously) put spread through the environment this group is so adamant about protecting and even to other people's homes and buildings, killing all life along the way... children, women, non-human animals. There is no such thing as "contained" arson. Arson was the reason why California was ablaze a few months ago, putting thousands out of their homes.

It looks like the animals that committed this crime don't need any protecting, in my opinion... pun intended.

Why do you think that has anything to do with being a vegan?
Why do you think because we care, we would approve of such acts?

I have respect for humans and animals.

No because the fires polluted the atmosphere!

Building "green" homes doens't have anything to do with veganism or animal rights.

Do I think burning down private property is appropriate to get a message across? No way. If it was perpetrated by the group on the sign that was found, the group should be held responsible for restitution. This was a cowardly act that put peoples lives in danger.

Absolutely not. Violence is not going to solve anything. It is only going to serve to increase the false perception that all vegetarians/vegans are crazy extremists.

I understand why they did what they did.I understand they are Earth activists. Why couldn't they have removed animals from a research lab and torched that.I would have been happier with that.

What"Kim" are you referring too?

F***ing cowards and hypocrites.

I don't believe the ends justify the means.

Although many times when a person is vegan, they do support the earth and going green, however just because one is vegan does not necessarily mean that they are automatically in the same category. Case and point, this has NOTHING to do with being a vegan or animal rights advocate. Nothing at all.
As for myself, I consider myself to be a "green" minded person, and I also happen to be vegan, obviously I am also an animal rights advocate, to answer your question (which I already clarified had nothing to do with my vegan or animal rights life style) NO I don't agree with this, it is not only illegal, it has added pollution to our precious planet, and in could very well have harmed another living being. It is not acceptable.

I don't approve, I'm all for the cause but the course of actions taken only leads the public to have fear and anger towards this cause rather than the sympathy it needs to have an impact. Terrorists essentially go against their cause by causing everyone else to fear them rather than trying to get people to understand rationally. A similar case to this would be a Animal Rights organisation here in the UK which took it upon themselves to dig up the body of the mother of the leader of a guinea pig farm I think. This owner was doing immoral and cruel things yes, but they had no right to do this and caused othes to see them as evil, so they are making things more difficult for more peaceful animal rights activists really. Shooting themselves in the foot as it were.

Arson is impossible to condone, but I do so hate McMansions... and the development should not have been allowed to build so close to the wetlands.

No, I dont. But i dont know what approaches they had tried and failed at either. I should hope that before they went and fire bombed, they exhausted every other option, they let every buyer know why they dissapproved of the land use, they let local governments know, they let the developer know, ect. It is a f*cked up world and some greedy people only respond to multimillion dollar property loss, and some angry people are willing to teach them that lesson and everyone envolved is f*cked up, and it is f*cked up, and it is f*cked up. (did i mention that this whole situation is f*cked up?)

No, not really. Smoke in the air doesn't really help the environment much either.

I disagree with big homes like that. But I think that our culture is too far gone for home burning activists to make a difference. Rich people have insurance....

And burning them down pollutes the air and is then using up more supplies to re-build...it would have been better to throw cans of green paint (acrylic) :) all over the houses...something like that.

But I am far from being an animal rights advocate, I am more of a save our earth advocate.

its absolute madness

does more damage to the cause than any possible positives.

As much as I loathe McMansions and cookie-cutter homes, I loathe violence in the name of any cause even more. I believe violence and vandalism hurt our cause more than anything.

I approve. No one was living there yet.

PETA does. They have given financial support to this group.

Great one! I would definitely do that!
