the suffering of animals.

PETA helped me, it gave me the insight of what was happening in the slaughterhouses and such.

I read a few articles on the abuse farm animals go through, and decided that putting the animals through such abuse just so we could eat them is wrong. Also, I think it's hypocritical to eat meat if you couldn't kill the animal yourself. For example, I don't think it's wrong when the native americans, past civilizations, poor countries, etc. eat meat because they typically use/used every part of the animal and treated the animal humanely.

just didn't feel right eating meat.i have been veg. ever since i was 9.i mean the thought that what you are eating was once alive and living in horible conditions and then cruely killed just so you could eat them makes me wan't to cry.ever since thirst grade i didn't like eating meat then finaly when i was 10 i quit for good.ever since i have only been sick once and it was just a small flue.guess it has somthing to do with me being veg.

the way the animals are killed... it is very unsanitary and something i would rather not take part in... I feel that animals have a right to live freely, and without torcher..... plus, i can't stand the thought of eating flesh.... I am equal to animals and the whole thing disgusts me

i have two pets that i love dearly and would give close to anything up for, so i one day came across the fact that someones cow, or someone's chicken is my charlie and timmy.

also, it really hurts the enviorment, the process of meat
and
people might say well meat was made to eat, well no
we have better technology and minds to feed ourselves :]

Hi.
I became a vegetarian because:

Top reasons:
1.] did not like eating animals
2.] didn't want to support factory farms and slaughterhouses
3.] did not like how they treat animals in the factory farms
4.] my mom is a vegetarian and I saw how animals are treated just to be eaten. =[
5.] It is a healthy lifestlye if you eat a good diet

Those are my reasons why I became a vegetarian!!!! =D I am happy I am one.

i was a vegetarian for a while before and i chose to do it because of moral reasons. i don't think that any animal should suffer or die so that my taste buds are happy. i thought, "what if i liked the taste of dogs? would i still eat it?" the answer, obviously, is no. i gave up my vegetarian diet in college when all i could eat was dorm food and it was difficult to stay healthy.

this past week my coworkers started talking at work about vegetarians being "stupid hippies" and talking about how "animals were put on earth for us to eat"......i LOST IT on them. i spent over an hour defending vegetarians and vegans to my coworkers while they came close to harassing me over it. when i realized that i was passionate enough about the issue to chew out the people that i work with every day, i realized it is important enough to me to make the effort again. and if i do say so myself, i'm pretty proud of it =D

when i was in 6th grade [now 12th] i found out what meat came from and i've always been a lover of animals so i stopped eating it because i love animals

Peta helped a lot
I heard you are healthier
My friend told me the benefeits
Those poor animals!
