It should answer most of your questions.

Congratulations and Good Luck!

eat veggies
and try raw veggies
tofu is delicious and low fat and hihg in protein
try it in stir fry with some veggies but with olive oil so that its less fattening

try to avoid food that has alot of trans fat
or is procesed
like chips

and btw, barbecue chips have chicken fat so i would change to plain chips or cheddar if u want some

Just keep a diet with variety, and you will do fine. Adjust your diet until you feel like you're getting the best nutrition. Try taking a very weak multivitamin until you perfect your diet.

Some suggestions include

Clorella
Spirunella
Kelp
Soy (because you're a guy, I don't recommend soy because of phytoestrogens alone)
Beans
All vegetables.......
Milk (Try the raw unprocessed milk of the Amish)
Eggs (Try Amish eggs too)
Chocolate lacking HFCS
And fruits (list below)

Make SURE you have a HIGH fat diet that is HIGH is saturated fats. These are slow to digest, help you remain fuller longer (hard on a vegetarian diet). Plus they are important for cardiovascular health (despite what is commonly believed) and people who get energy from fats instead of stored glycogen are able to run longer. Doing this helps teach your body turn fat into energy rather than sugar in your liver into energy.
