Do you have to be sick to work with the meat/fur/science(testing on animals) industry?!

Question: I hear things like..mostly people sick in the head slaughter the animals and work machinery. I dont know anyone who would really want to do that unless they just really had a strong hatred for animals. I dont really see how people would want to make a living out of that. Is it a money thing? I understand some are humane but when I say fur, Most really arent- They set traps, break their necks(no anesticia), cut them open. I find it very disturbing!!!

They are either sick in the head, or ignorant. Some people honestly believe that animals don't feel fear, or pain, and that animals are so stupid that it doesn't matter what you do to them. Some people think that it says in the bible that animals were put on Earth "for man" so it gives humans permission to do what they want. There are alot of reasons why people don't respect animals as God's creatures. It is disturbing, I agree.

I've never really thought about this before... so I can only give you my opinion... Honestly I couldn't see why anyone that is completely sane could do that kind of work! I could never hurt animals like that. So I suppose one that worked in that field would have to be somewhat demented.

Did you know that in the US there are so many illegal immigrants and people like slaughterhouses hire them and pay them nothing....It's so sad, they come to a country thinking that it's the land of the free, and they work in places like and are as mistreated as the animals themselves.

I think that they aren't sicko's but another sad and dismissed part of our society that we all ignore.

They have ice cold hearts and something wrong with their heads blended with severe anger issues they haven't dealt with. With this you will get someone that is able to conduct insanely cruel and torturous acts on innocent and defenseless animals. They are savage and full of pure hatred. This gives them pleasure and satisfaction to issue pain and or death to ones that cannot fight back. They are the most dangerous of all bullies.

Adam T....get off my back man...this is a forum where people are allowed to share their opinions. If you cant do so without insults and getting bent out of shape I suggest you suspend visiting the v& v forum and choose another to troll around in.

PS...again..make spell check your friend!

My friend works at Stanford Hospital and almost went into a program where they have to test on animals. He doesn't care though and is really selfish when it comes to those things. Once I was collecting signatures to pass the California Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty act and I asked him to sign and his first question was, "Will my meat get more expensive?"

He is not sick, just extremely ignorant. Go figure though, he's a Russian Commie!!

I don't agree with the practice obviously but some people have to work in those places. Because some areas (i.e. small towns, parts of the Midwest US, etc.) don't have any other job opportunities.

Yes.

that's the only answer. If you use animals in that sort of wrong manner... you are a creul resemlence of the human nature, and I would not want to know that I have anything in common with you.

I find that cool but then agan I am a dude. They dont have to be crazy. Some may be but there are also crazy people in all jobs. And by the way "what you got ganst da meat man...yo"? I think...well dont care about animal testing because that is very helpful to modern medican...medcian...meda...meta.....DRUG...

I believe a person who is capable of doing such things to an animal would do the same to other people if paid.

They have to be very, very desensitized to animal suffering in order to be able to electrocute animals alive, pour chemicals in their eyes, slit their throats while they're still conscious, etc. It's scary, what some people are capable of. The FBI has even analyzed its computer records of serial rapists and murderers, and found that a history of cruelty to animals is one of the traits that regularly appear in these records.

I think they do have to be pretty sick, or really not understand what they are doing. Have no compassion or feelings, I think. I don't get it either... :-(

I always thought so, and then I see one of the V&V's Top Contributors, Michael H., grows hay to sell to farmers to feed their cattle before murdering them.

So I guess it isn't sick if a V&V leader can do it.

hi firstly alot of people work in these industries because of family tradition for instance...if you have been brought up that eating animals is fine then they wudnt have a problem wud they....just like if you were brought up to love meat but hate people cutting up veg then you would probably think those working in the veg industry and sick...its all perception..how you think of sumthing...if u are told its fine then u think its fine, we are told that blue is blue and green is green but if we never got told you would have your doubts. Kim J u give ur cause a bad name to say we have ice cold hearts and are screwed up in the head is nonsense...ok by ur reasoning ur sick because u eat defencless plants and u like cutting them open...u wud disagree just as i disagree with your childish and extremly ignorant answer.
